Coconuts Beach Resort

The villa resort is associated with the adjacent barge and water sports / activities, with good deals arriving by boat from Benoa Harbour, Bali or just use a fast boat from Sanur and walk a little to the villa complex. (The place is not really a resort - more of a villa style hotel on a cliff face) The rooms have air con and a fridge, no TV - and the higher your room number means more steps to climb to the villa from the pool and restaurant area. Rooms clean, staff pleasant and helpful. I hired a golf buggy to tour the Island by myself - approx. $80 US day- as my insurance did not cover motor scooters - which was interesting as on two occasions I saw young ladies who had lost wheel traction around corners and had crashed their scooters. (the locals were very quick to offer assistance). Quiet Island, although the tourists had over taken the local population when I was there. The beach is further along the shore line (north?). Great place for a break from the mainland, especially if you like water sports, diving or surfing. I heard a whisper from another guest that the place may be demolished and rebuilt.

Room Tip: Great views with a high villa, but be wary of the large amount of uneven steps.

This resort is located on the cliff and overlooking to the ocean. It has a great pool view, superb restaurant and amazing staff.

Stayed here for one night as a short getaway to Lembongan Island and was located in a nice villa number 4. The villa was very basic with standard amenities. The plus point was only the amazing view from the pool and restaurant.

This resort is potentially being the best.

Room Tip: Choose the villa which closes to swimming pool.

Stayed here as a couple on the recommendation of friends. Found the place overall very good. Location is close to the main part of the island and an easy stroll to other venues for dinner and drinks if you choose. Swimming pool separate for house guest as apposed to day trippers however not policed very well.
Bar facilities were very good, live music every night, relaxing, and good food and drinks. Breakfast is included with rooms which looked forward to every morning nice (awesome banana pancakes!!) Staff helpful and very polite. Always happy to chat to you in passing. The resort runs movies every second night which we found very entertaining.
Getting around the island requires transport (bike, cart, hire driver) however everything can be booked through reception for a reasonable price.
Yes the stairs are a bit of a walk to the top room but think of the fitness!
Downside consisted of lots of kids during the holiday period which were loud taking away some of the tranquility.
Rooms had good views, shower heads not the best. beds hard, some holes in the neting in bathroom.
Would stay here again.

Room Tip: try and get towards the bottom.

Stayed at Coconuts for 5 nights. Probably one night too long. 4 nights would have been plenty. Resort itself was ok - view was beautiful. Holes and gaps in the netting in bathroom. Take mosquito coils. Day trippers arrive every day between 1 - 3. Pack a bag for the day so you don't have to walk up the stairs back to room. A few minor incidents (no water first night/thongs stolen from front door/friends kids rash shirts disappeared from pool). Also took fast boat back to Sanur instead of funship - funship leaves at 3.30pm with day trippers. Would highly recommend fast boat- 25 minutes compared to 1 hr.

We recently stayed at Coconuts - after being dropped off at the beginning of a dirt track and told 'it is along there..' we walked along a rough road full of rocks and finally arrived at the top of some steps, no signage but after going down a steep track of steps we finally found the office. The whole place is run down and is in need of a serious upgrade. The rate is expensive for a cold shower, smelly towels and mould on the cushions around the pool. The bar was the best part of the place. We left after 2 nights.

We stayed here 4 nights of our 2 week trip to Bali. Stayed in 4 hotels total and this was the most disappointing. This was the one location and hotel I was looking forward to the most. Booking the reservation was easy with Andrew who I believe is the onsite manager but while we were there he happened to be away on business and I wonder if the staff acts differently when he is there.
Basically, the room is basic with no frills which is fine, but it could have been kept cleaner, the bathroom was basic and had a terrible smell. The view from the room was breathtaking looking over at Bali and Mt. Agung. Our biggest issue with the place was the service. The hotel definitely had enough staff but they just weren't working. They were sitting around talking to each other, on the phone, or just not being helpful. When we were at the pool nobody took a drink order and the bar/restaurant staff just did nothing. The pool area had food and empty bottles, etc. laying around that nobody picked up for hours until the next day. The front desk was not always staffed and guests would go for a question or help and nobody was there. They just all seemed lazy and unorganized unfortunately. The grounds were not kept as clean as they could have been for sure. The "day trippers" which have their own pool which is nice, but every day a few of them would come to the hotel guests pool to hang out and none of the staff would say or do anything about it. I really was hoping for more of a quiet time with them staying over at the other pool. One day as many as 8 of them were there on the hotel guests pool.
pros of the place: The band that played every day made it a fun atmosphere and enjoyable to be at the property. Food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. Happy hour was nice to smash a few Bintangs. They helped us book our boat back to mainland early because we had a long day of traveling that day. Smuggles bar was my favorite to start the evening for happy hour or just to hang out at.
Overall, I think their are better deals on the island and better places to stay. the individual huts are nice and the view is great but too many disappointing things happened on our stay.

Regarding the stairs and rooms: They all have good views. Higher up is only slightly better, we were in room 6 which is barely half way up the massive stairs and that was plenty. We are in good shape and we felt that being all the way at the top would be WAY too much when you have to make multiple trips up and down in a day.

Room Tip: We were in room 6, which is high enough for a great view but not a monster trek
