We spotted this place walking along the beach and decided to try it for lunch the next day. Nice location, good view and the menu seemed well priced. We took our friends along and were pleased that there were only a few other diners. We chose a table in the middle and it was a great view.

We had just ordered our lunch when it all went straight to hell! In stumbled in a gaggle of high pitched squealing Chinese tourists and parked themselves in the only table that could block our view. They were obviously waiting for the fast boat back to Bali. The ongoing cacophony of squeals and repartee was so loud it was offensive. They were all trying to talk over everyone else. It wasn't just us that was unimpressed, the staff kept on giving us looks of disdain until one of the staff yelled at the top of his voice at them, I assume it was to tell them to tone it down. Nice try feller.

It's not a Chinese thing, I like Chinese people, it could easily have been drunken yobbo aussies or loud mouth Americans. Before you say anything my wife is American and she agrees. All I can say is lucky the food was good, very good. The nasi goreng was great. Everyone else enjoyed their meals . Once the rabble rousers left it was back to paradise. Oh well, I guess we do have to share.

We stayed 9 days on Nusa Lembongan and ate at just about every little warung and restaurant in town. Hero's was by far our favorite place and by the end of the trip we were eating here twice a day. As mentioned by other reviewers it has some of the best (only) vegetarian options around, a good selection of seafood and meats and the prices are way cheaper than any other restaurant with a view (besides warung 99 which has much lower food quality). It is located right along the main boardwalk and has excellent sunset views. Meals average rp 25,000 ($2.5US). Highly recommend the red/green thai curries, the nasi campur sate, and the balinese tofu curry. We also tried the tuna steak which many reviewers are complaining about and found it really delicious. Every time we have ordered fish in our month in Bali, including at fine restaurants it has been cooked to oblivion, but the tuna steak at Hero's was fairly moist and came with a delicious chili topping that made it quite enjoyable. Staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.

I ordered fish steak with rice, and large mineral water. The steak came out very tough (either over cook or has been cook before, then fried again). It's very salty as well. No complain for the rice (well, it taste like normal rice, plain).

Right on the beach, with tables looking out over the water and sunset. Had breakfast and dinner there, good selection and pretty good food. Had the big breakfast, tom yum soup and satay. The tom yum and satay were a bit small but tasty. Prices were similar or better than other restaurants serving similar food, about rp. 20,000 for a juice, rp. 50,000 for big breakfast, rp. 35,000 - 80,000 per dinner entree. Staff really friendly and willing to trade out food (ie veggies instead of rice for the paleos out there).

Had lunch here on a sleepy weekday. Ordered bakmi goreng and tuna steak (hard and salty). Both were forgettable and taste was not good. Would eat elsewhere! Watermelon juice was fine.
