“The best restaurant on the island without doubt!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Lembongan isn't really a foodies paradise, nor is it a place to do much else other than sit on the beach or trek through the jungle. Therefore Jibaku is a fantastic contribution to the island's food and nightlife scene. It is a little way from the town centre but with a motorbike and optional free pick up, it's easy to get to. The food is exceptional, if not a little pricey but for the quality, it is reasonable. We visited here twice and I can highly recommend the Grilled Marlin which tasted so fresh that you would have imagined it had just been caught and slung on your plate. I would also recommend the burger but only for those with a large appetite, we shared it and still could barely finish it. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, always asking how your meal was and they even offered us a ride home after our dinner. I don't understand the previous reviews about the place being run by 'gangster thugs', if they are what this reviewer claims them to be then apparently the criminal underworld of Indonesia is more curteous and polite than most of the Western world! Would DEFINATELY eat here again and I highly recommend this place :)

“Fantastic....Food, Staff & Atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

Highly recommended... A family owned and run restaurant situated on the Jungut Batu beach front on the road to the Mangroves.

We have visited this restaurant many times since it's openning both as a family with children through to my 83 yr old mother (she loved the place) and also with a large group of friends... You can phone ahead and make a booking and they also have a hotel pick up service.... if you are lucky you will get to ride in the jeep... a fun experience !

The chef was trained in Nusa Dua at Conrad and Batu Kerang, the standard and presentation of food is of a very high standard and they have a varied food and beverage menu on offer (some great cocktails! )prices are very reasonable...

The staff are lovely and very attentive - nothing is too much trouble... you can choose water front or undercover seating...

Once diner is over and the night moves on they also cater for the young ones (or young at heart) with more up beat music and more of a party atmosphere...

Definatly a place to visit when you are on the island....

“Good food and staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

I have visited this restaurant many times and the food, drinks and staff are all great. My favorite is the crispy prawns, huge prawns with a sweet and sour sauce. The cocktails are also good. I highly recommend this place.

“Beautiful curry”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2012

We made a reservation at Jibaku after people staying at our resort recommended it. They had been the night before and loved it.
We were picked up promptly by an old jeep with plastic seats in it. It was a hilarious ride to the restaurant which we all enjoyed immensely.
Upon arrival we were greated by the lovely staff and seated at the waters edge. The ambience was beautiful and the music was really nice (I think it was a Zoey Deschanel CD). We ordered cocktails and they were very good...better than other restaurants on the island. Our food was fantastic. I had the chicken curry and it was absolutely devine.
The prices here are very comparable to other restaurants on the island and the staff are very friendly. We met quite a few of the family members (its a family run restaurant) and they were lovely.
We had no issues with our credit card. Knowing that there is no ATM on the island, we had lots of Rupiah with us but used our credit card on this occasion with no problems.
I highly recommend Jibaku for a beautiful evening.

“Awful!!! Stay away!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

Top 5 reasons to notgoto Jibaku:

1) It's easily 30% more than every other spot on the island.
2) it faces north And doesn't even have sunset views
3) it's a 30 min walk from town ( they say they will provide free transport but then don't answer the phone
4)if they have managed to pick up the phone and arrive to pick you up- then you are lucky enough to eat overpriced and mediocre food and ridiculously over priced beer, while listening to blasting trance music at 4pm.
5) and the main reason to not vist Jibaku.... The place is literally run by a bunch of thug gangsters. No joke. Watch your purse, and don't use your credit card there!!! Not safe.
