“Relaxing and friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2014

We stayed at twin islands for two nights and loved it! We were the only people staying there at the time and the staff were friendly and very helpful!
The views were lovely, our room "the love shack" was nice and it was peaceful.
Would recommend staying here to friends!

We just got back from our trip to Bali and Twin Island was our first stop. It was perfect for a getaway. The rooms were great and the view was stunning. It is a little out of the main area but you can hire a scooter very cheaply. If you don't feel comfortable riding then you can get a free hotel shuttle in to town and the restaurants are usually happy to drive you home just double check before hand. Emma one of the staff there was extremely helpful and gave us lots of great suggestions to make our stay enjoyable. All and all a fantastic time. We will definitely be back!

we just had the pleasure of staying at Twin Islands for two nights (we wish it had have been longer). BJ and the staff were fantastic, they could not do enough for us.
we have been to Lembongon on numerous occasions over the years, we wish we new about this place earlier. The main road is a bit of a goat track, however this is and was part of the adventure.
To Kim and Steve great job in getting this place to were it is, you guys have thought of everything.

The manager was on site for half our stay and this definitely made a difference in service. We stayed in the 'Love shack' but was disappointed by it's lack of privacy. You are quite close to the kitchen and a walkway goes past your private plunge pool. We asked the staff to organise a massage and snorkel trip however, had to ask several times for these to be booked and confirmed. I would not recommend getting a massage there as the facilities are not set up well or private (mould covered massage table in a corner with mosquitos). Other little things let down this place like when our sheets were changed, the towels were not. There isn't much storage for your clothes and the rooms are quite small. There were plumbing upgrades while we were staying which meant no shower for a day but the worst part was listening to the owner swear and curse the people on the phone and workers for two days. We were also asked to help turn taps/showers on and off for about an hour in our villa and the next door one). The villa's are very secluded which is lovely but means you need a scooter to go everywhere. And finally check out took over 30 mins - between adding all the receipts, then forgetting to add the tax, then needing to phone the owner for the exchange rate etc.

On the positive, the view is spectacular and the food lovely. But I wouldn't stay here again

I totally agree with the below two comments. There were some obvious cracks appearing without anyone at the helm and we to were left very much to work things out ourselves and departed after our 3 nights NOT feeling like friends and that we had missed something that others had raved about.

Being an older couple it was very hard to get around if you do not ride a bike and the offer of being picked up and dropped off was bought to our awareness on our last day. If you fall into this category would suggest you are somewhere closer for easier access to restaurants etc.

Very disappointing on checkout to find all the mini bar prices (we were told!) were incorrect and the menus in the rooms had not been changed to reflect a higher price. So beware of the prices you are being charged for. Food was basic, limited menu and food ok.

But, it is a lovely location and the view and gardens were great. Room was clean and comfortable.

Pretty location overlooking the well known yellow bridge and beautiful water - cute rooms and the staff were friendly - but beware, do not stay here if the manager is not there - which, unfortunately was the time we were there. No water in our pool when we arrived, none of staff knew how to drive the "complimentary shuttle service". The "Wine and Cocktail Bar" (as featured on the sign out front on the road) had no ice for the first two nights until we asked for it. First night we asked for a Rum and Coke and he made a Vodka Soda. Don't want to sound mean but this is our Honeymoon - first night was not going the way we wanted. No one asked if we wanted to do any activities - we had to push them and ask the staff (who spoke very little English). We asked for eggs for two people, 20 minutes later, the staff woman came out with one plate of eggs. Took 1 hour to make a mini pizza. Better off staying almost anywhere on the island for the price where things are as promised. I noticed the last day we left (when the manager was on the premises), all of the staff were more accomodating, everyone was there, but the manager was quite demanding of them. Will definitely not be back. Certainly beautiful but all of Nusa Lembongan is beautiful!

Room Tip: "Little House" is just that - Little. Opt for the largest room they have but double-check...

TwinIslandVillas, Guest Relations Manager at Twin Island Villas, responded to this review, May 17, 2016
Dear Miss P,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Villas. It's always disappointing to hear that guests did not enjoy their vacation, particularly when they were celebrating a special occasion, such as a honeymoon.

We have recently undergone a change of ownership and management at the Villas, which has enabled us to improve the service and facilities available to our guests, including a new team of dedicated staff, that are as proud of the Villas as we are. We are also launching a new onsite breakfast menu, headed up by an Australian chef, and are working in partnership with an excellent local restaurant to provide lunch and dinner, served within the Villas.

Should you be visiting Lembongan again, we would happily welcome you back to Twin Island for, what should be, a much improved experience.

Best regards,
Sarah
