“We should have stayed longer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

We came here on the second and third night of our honeymoon, and it was the nicest place that we stayed while we were Indonesia. The hut was lovely, the food was fantastic and the staff were so welcoming that we really didn't want to leave.
It is not right on the beach, but is about 2 minutes walk away, which was fine with us as it felt quieter and more private. We had breakfast and lunch in Alam Nusa (both fantastic) and then ate in restaurants on the beach in the evening to watch the sunset over the bay, before coming back to Alam Nusa for dessert and drinks. On our second night there, the staff decorated our hut (and even our bathroom) with flowers to celebrate our honeymoon - it was the nicest thing any hotel has ever done for us! We got treatments in the spa, which were really enjoyable.
I only wish that we could go back!

We stayed for four nights but wished we'd stayed longer. The staff were extremely attentive and made us feel like long lost relatives. The huts were a unique and traditional experience. The huge beds were very comfortable and we all slept soundly. The food was amazing, affordable and fresh. We indulged in massages, manicures, pedicures and I strongly suggest you try the lur lur massage. I floated back to my hut with a 10 foot wide grin after that one !! Our daughter is studying Indonesian language at school and the staff were only to happy to engage in conversations with her and for that we are truly thankful. Alam Nusa ticks all the boxes for a trip of a lifetime and we were genuinely moved and saddened when we were farewelled by our newfound friends. My only suggestion? Book your stay for the end of your Bali holiday as the ultimate wind down.

Room Tip: All four huts are of excellent standard. Book early!!!

We stayed at Alam Nusa for 3 nights with 4 adults and 2 small children. As soon as we arrived we felt so welcome. Ketut, was super friendly and helped us organise a snorkling trip and rented motorbikes from the hotel. The huts are beautiful, complete with AC, misquito nets, outdoor shower and cute little balcony. Only downside was there was no pool (however the beach is only a 2 minute walk away so it didn't bother us) and no mini fridge (but food and drink on the island is cheaper than in Kuta/Legian so no need to bring extra stuff).

The location was perfect, not on the beach but as I mentioned, the beautiful mushroom beach is only a 2 min walk. There are only 4 huts so it never gets too busy and feels very intimate.

This was our first trip to Lembonan Island and absolutely loved it, and a huge part of that was the hospitality of the Alam Nusa team. The massages were the best we have had in Bali and are not to be missed. The staff were fanastic with our two nieces (aged 2 and 3) and the food at the restaurant was the best we ate on the island.

Thank you again Alam Nusa for our amazing time!!!

Stayed 1 week and every moment was fantastic, the huts, the service, the food...............absolutely the only place worth eating at in Mushroom Bay and it appeared that everyone knew this as they were full each night.
The most wonderful thing about Alam Nusa is Ketut and his extended family, we feel like part of that family now, it was a very sad day when we had to leave.
I would tell everyone that wants to experience a little bit of true Bali to stay here, it was amazing.
Thankyou from Papa Johnny and Mama Lou( sales, marketing and operations manager !!!!)
We will be back one day.

Room Tip: Only 4 huts so if you are reading this you had better get booking or you will miss out

I am so pleased to see lots of other people have positive reviews for Alam Nusa. We have not stopped raving to our friends and family about our time here. We stayed for 8 nights at the end of July 2012 and were so relaxed by the end and so well fed, we didn't want to leave.

Ketut and family and staff were so lovely and friendly and helpful. Ask them any questions about the island or the activities. We treated ourselves to the spa several times and Sari and staff there were lovely and very good at their job. The staff have a great balance of friendliness and professionalism, and we did feel like friends by the end of our stay.

The huts are in a great location in my opinion, 1 minute walk to the beach, and you can hear the waves at night. It is private and welcoming. Some of the other locations on the beach are invaded every day by tourists and day trips, and anyone can sit on the beach furniture or walk through the grounds, so those places aren't private.

There are restaurants in Mushroom Bay with beautiful views of the beach, the sunset and Mount Agung, but the food at Alam Nusa was superior and so often we ate at the huts. For our last night, Ketut arranged a suckling pig from Bali for us and we had an amazing experience preparing this from scratch with his family and shared it with everyone for a wonderful last night.

The huts are in excellent condition, and kept spotless clean. They are cleaned in the morning and the evening, and the mosquito curtains on the bed are put down, and the room sprayed for you every night. We didn't get bitten once! Such a luxury. We had a king size bed and air conditioning and were very comfortable. The bathroom is airy but private and we enjoyed looking up at the banana trees.

I would recommend this place to anyone. I'm so glad we chose it.

Room Tip: Ask Ketut about the suckling pig! And be sure to stay more than just one or two nights for the true...

I really can't say enough positives about these bungalows.
The location is perfect, less than 100 metres from mushroom bay, one of the best beaches on the island and without a doubt the best sunset view from this beach. Only 4 bungalows, so it's intimate and quiet. The constant sound of trickling water, birds, geckos, traditional Indonesian music played very quietly and the amazing smells coming from the spa and the daily offerings to the gods, just make this place a heady swirl of paradise.
The staff though are what really make it special, family owned and run, you quickly get introduced to everyone and within minutes of arrival everyone is on first name basis, even fellow guests. Yet the service still felt very discreet and professional.
Together with a complimentary welcome massage and fresh blended pineapple smoothie, the welcome here instantly made me feel clear headed and 100% relaxed.
The food is fantastic, all cooked to order by ketut's wife, who even made us a special platter on our last night and it was delicious. The Indonesian breakfast is a great way to start the day too.
The rooms are cleaned twice a day and a turn down service, yet the staff are so discreet we never actually were aware of them doing this.
The beds are so comfortable, the mattresses are changed every 6 months.
I could go on and on about Alam Nusa, it really is a very special place to stay with fantastic people and an amazing spa and restaurant.
I actually did feel like a brother of the family, especially as they called me brother Koming Will!
Don't believe anything negative you read here, it truly is wonderful in every aspect. Thank you to all the family for making my trip to nusa lembongan absolutely fantastic.

Alam Nusa Huts is the kind of place you miss once back home. It is a fantastic hangout for a few days, not in the least because of the fantastic Ketut, who made our stay simply special, without being in any way pushy. It is the first time ever I met a hotel owner who comes across as authentic when he says that he sometimes misses his customers after they are gone. The huts have everything, the breakfast was nothing extremely special, but probably the best we had in Indonesia, the place just looks very nice, is quiet and has wonderful pinacoladas. It is corny, but we miss Ketut.
