Stayed in October as a couple. Food was the best on the island by far, their burgers are to die for! Service was great, location was great. Overall we had a perfect time here. Would definitely stay again, a thousand times over.

My partner and I recently spent 5 wonderful nights at this lovely hotel. Someone else described the property as an 'oasis' and indeed it is!

Firstly, the food! Clement, the French chef and owner produces magnificent dishes every night. The desserts are the among the best we've tasted worldwide. He has a wonderful eye for presentation and even though the food is first class, the atmosphere in the restaurant isn't formal or 'stuffy'. In fact, one night whilst we were enjoying a sunset drink on a cosy lounge at the front of the restaurant and tables were filling up with guests, Clement came running up from the beach with his surfboard under his arm...through the restaurant and executed a quick change into his chefs attire! At night the chefs wear very stylish white chef hats which looks great. Clement visits every table during dinner to have a chat and enquire if all is ok!

We ate lunch around the pool a few times and found the choice adequate, always delicious and exceptional quality.

The position of the hotel is fabulous. Sitting right on the 'sand' or crushed coral with the lights of Bali twinkling in the distance at night. During the day, traditional boats are moored along the stretch of beach and you can watch surfers or seaweed farmers working tirelessly, harvesting their crops. There are extra large lounges built into the front wall where one can laze and watch the world go by.

The property is very well maintained with lush gardens, frangipani trees and ponds with carp along the pathways. We stayed in a suite which had a small garden and deck with chairs to relax if one wanted. The rooms were spacious and spotless. I particularly liked the size of the bathroom and the large shower with a full length window into the garden. There was a 'smell' present in the toilet but due to the pit system this would be difficult to avoid. There are automatic perfume spray dispensers which disguise it most of the time. The decor is interesting but personally I found it very dark...I needed a torch to find my clothes in the wardrobe in the evening. This isn't a criticism - just a comment.

I would recommend having a massage in the delightful massage/spa room. The treatment is quite unique in that you are treated to a foot bath with scrub and leg massage before commencing the massage. Afterwards, you can relax with freshly made iced tea. Of course, one could have a cheaper massage somewhere in the town, but it's the total experience in lovely surroundings that makes this special.

Finally, I thought the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times - from the always smiling gardener to the office staff...all happy and caring and Clement himself....charming.
