Stayed at the Tanis Villas for 3 nights.

We received a really nice welcome and the island was beautiful and remote. The beach area was amazing, and the pool was good, however a little deep in places for little ones. If you would like to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bali, then this resort is perfect.

Snorkeling: Equipment is provided for free if you ask staff.

The restaurants around the bay are limited, unless you walk further afield to Dream Beach. Jo Jos restaurant was pricey but very nice, Cafe Bali was good, but not all options are available on the menu due to limited supplies, the hotel/restaurant to the right of Tanis is very poor and food bad. After 8pm the area would become very quiet and most people were asleep.

The rooms: First room we were given was Nusa 3, the villa looked great on inspection however the first night the aircon was very weak and kept cutting out due to electricity cuts, we had the curtains down on the bed to prevent bugs, however we were awoken in the middle of the night by a huge cockroach jumping around the bed!! Also, Geckos are rummaging around all night on the ceiling or outside in the bathroom knocking bottles over etc. Also the outside bathroom wasn't that pleasant or clean. Im not usually a squeemish person, but a cockroach and bug infested room made sleeping very uncomfortable, and after noticing more cockroach's the 2nd night i asked to be moved.

Garden View room 4: This room had a plastered ceiling due to the villas above, it also had aircon and a fan, and an inside bathroom! This room was amazing and i slept really well and bug free!

I would still recommend these villas, however i recommend paying the extra for a garden view villa with indoor bathroom and fan& aircon to insure a comfortable stay.

Staff: Were great and breakfast was ok and they would also arrange tours if needed.

- We were picked up by a private driver from our hotel in Kuta and transfered to the Tanis boat which took us to the magical island resort. We were greeted on the beach and had our luggage taken straight to our room while we were checking in! The staff were all friendly, professional and really helpful - they always went the extra mile and took a genuine interest in what we needed.
- The rooms were basically kitted out but comfortable.
- The villas are on the beach - elevated and ours had a stunning sea view. We hired a scooter from Tanis and explored the island for a day - well worth doing! The manager organised a fishing boat for us to go surfing and the skipper waited for us for over two hours before taking us back!
- Definately somewhere to go back to! And the food and hospitality was fantastic!

Tanis Villas is located by a beautiful, clear turquoise bay thats suitable for swimming. It has beautiful sandy beaches and lovely villas to boot. The room we stayed in was decorated beautifully and had an outdoor bathroom.

The main highlight here is the staff. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful to my family. Will definitely stay here again if I am ever in Nusa lembongan.

Tanis Villas is a good value and the rooms were very nice. There were some maintenance problems which could be easily corrected but are not.

The hotel sits on a nice beach, the nicer of the 2 with about 4 other hotels. The big task of the day is deciding where to eat, we like the Mushroom Bay restraint, the only one not associated with a hotel.

The staff at Tanis are very friendly. The only issue is that there is not printed information and getting details is very difficult. We wanted to go snorkeling, which they advertise, but it was so iffy that we found a different way.

The island is beautiful - with clean beaches and pretty water. Bali is not! There are no cars and a few trucks on the island, mostly scooters and we walked for about 2 hours around and saw no one except cows - one which we fed everyday.

Our only complaint about Tanis is that we had the furthest room on the right and this is close to a cow that was chained on a very small chain and standing in it own waste for days. It was covered in flies and we could smell it in the room and the files also came in. This was upsetting and when we asked about it, as it disturbed us the state of the cow - they said they had nothing to do with it. Only problem was we saw one of the employees taking care of it. If you are an animal lover, you will hate that.

Overall the value is great, the room nice, oh they don't have a totally closed roof. There is a small gap where bugs come in, which I couldn't figure out why they didn't screen it. Luckily the biggest gecko I had ever seen, like a foot long, (no kidding) came in the room every night. It hid being the frig and made such a loud chirp the morning we discovered it, we jumped. That was a cool.

The hotel is well priced and if you are realistic you will be happy - hopefully they will have addressed the cow problem.
