“A good stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014

We visited Tanis Villas in July 2013, and enjoyed our stay. The gardens and pool are beautiful and the villas are very unique. The service at Tanis Villas was average as they do seem to be understaffed, but they did their best. The food was good...not amazing, but average and there are many places to go eat along the beach. The location is excellent as it is right on a beautiful beach. The rooms do seem a bit tired and could use some updating. The bathrooms need new fixtures. The lock on our door was a padlock that didn't fully lock the door, so that was a bit unsettling. Overall though, for the price and the location I would come here again.

I was pleased with our stay at Tanis Villas. We managed to negotiate a fair rate of 350,000 per night (during low season). In comparison to other couples which we met during our trip in Nusa Lembongan, this was a very fair price considering we had the use of 2 swimming pools, air conditioning, hot water and a large room with a terrace outside and also a fridge. The whole area of Tanis Villas is beautifully designed with a lovely well kept garden various seating areas to choose from.

The standard of the room was average. The bedding needs updating and the room would benefit from a cupboard of some sort to put our belongings as we more or less lived out of out suitcase.

The food was slightly disappointing but ok for the price. The breakfast (which was included in the room rate) was very good and there was free tea and coffee.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were a two minute walk from the beach on Mushroom Bay, an excellent location.

I would recommend this place and stay here again.

Tanis do offer a wide range of different villas of all different costs for those who can afford a more luxurious option.

We've stayed at Tanis many times but I think this will be the last, unless the management take things in hand.
I can't fault the staff, they did their best with what they had. They are friendly and helpful.
The complex itself could be wonderful if it was given a large dose of tlc. The rooms are very tired and need decorating desperately. The curtains need washing or changing completely. Even hanging them properly would be a start! The mozzie nets need a wash, as they have blood stains and grime. They need new bathroom equipment, taps and shower heads etc. I understand that these things cost, but the place is going to the dogs.
The pools are pleasant enough, but could do with a scrub. Same with the sun loungers and umbrellas.
The place is seriously understaffed and most of these are found looking after the daytrippers that descend every morning. I feel sorry for the staff, they have so much to do!
This hotel has so much potential and it's a shame that it's gone downhill.
I really hope that the management will realise that they could have a little gem if only they could be bothered.
Im awarding 3 stars just for the staff who try their best for everyone.

Tanis is a wonderful hotel, even if there understaff they will allways try to give their best service. Very friendly and trustworthy staff. Right in front of mushroom beach. We call in to book but forgot to conform our bookings, and to my surprise the still kept ot for us (lucky for us because it was high season)
On the first day we stay on the standard garden view, it was great, large bed with an open bathroom and mini fridge. On the 2&3 we stay in the noesa 5, again open bathroom and mini fridge. Not the best room the have (because its next to the restaurant so you can hear everything thats going in there but the reatauran usualy close at 9 or 10). Thir Restaurant sell the best seafood (dont bother trying their beef or chicken, thir seafood are really cheap compare to Bali), my wife and kids love their banana fritter with ice cream. Always have Breakfast and Dinner there (would have lunch there as well but were to busy scooting around the island)
They have their own fast boat service but we didnt try them. Banana boat, snorkling equipment and motorbike rental are available on the receptionis. The only thing they dont have is a good cup of coffee (not bali mud) but on the last say we found out that they sell coffee on the restaurant next door. Its a great family hotel and will definitely return on our next visit.

All the hotels/resorts in Nusa Lembongan are on gthe beach. Tanis Villas is small property with rooms around a pool and on a small hill. you can see a part of the sea from the balony of the rooms. However, as the hotel is right on the beach, the vies are alsways available!!

This is one of few budget options avalable on the island. The property is simple, they have a clean pool, and an open- pool facing restaurent. The rooms are very basic and well maintained. The bathroom had an open to sky shower, due to which the taps were rusted!

The restaurent serves decent food, howver you have other options around too. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!

All in all , we had a very comformatble stay.

Room Tip: If you do not want to climd too many steps, then take the rooms around the pool , this will be close...

We stayed at Tanis for 3 nights.
It was our first time to Lembongan and we had no idea what to expect. After walking along the beach from the boat, we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist.
We booked a garden view room as we were on a tight budget. The room was massive by bali standards, the bathroom bigger than our entire room in our previous hotel! Very sparse and basic furnishings but still with that cool as a cucumber bali feel. Aircon and fan worked well. Garden view is gorgeous!
Our issues were the water pressure, or lack there of. Taking into account we are in indonesia and this is a cheap hotel.. but we could barely rinse out our shampoo.
The mattresses are very solid, along with the pillows and the curtains are very light, white material so you're up with the sun.
Rented scooters from reception for 70000 p/d and had the best time trying to navigate the island.. visiting devils tears and the suspension bridge. Friendly locals waving and saying hello at every corner :)
Will definitely be back to Lembongan and would consider Tanis again but bring my own pillow ;)

We had a lovely 4 night stay here. The staff are very nice and friendly and efficient in organising tours or pick up/drop off. Generally the place has got a great atmosphere. Mushroom bay we really liked, especially at night. It was very quiet and just 4 or 5 restaurants, all we needed. The rooms were fine. Bathrooms quite scruffy but the general atmosphere of the place made up for it. Good value
