Living in Indonesia we move around quite a bit and always look for new places, mid September after Ramadan we decided to go in Pangandaran at 180kms from Cirebon, three mountains crossing, the road not too bad all the way. When you arrive in Pangandaran you have to pay a entrance fee of 50000rp or so.
We had made a booking at the Sunrise Beach and took the option for the only De Luxe bungalows with one large aircon bedroom on the ground floor and another similar one on the first floor, private swimming pool.Cost 1.9jt rupiahs per night.
The place is always a bit run down and not well maintained, but most of the hotels around here are that way, the service is ok and readily available. There is a resto with local and European food (my suggestion is to stay with the local food), breakfast as usual is a mix of fried rice/noodle/funny coffee/funny bread etc...Cold beer is available at the pool bar.
The Sunrise Beach is one of the favorite destinations for the MCB (Motor Club Bandung) and they were here that time showing their big Harleys and Honda's, I met some friendly friends as I do belong to the MBC (Motor Club Cirebon).
I found Pangandaran to be now a complete ecological disaster...too busy and noisy..compare to several years ago... but here unfortunatly nobody care!
