We only spent one night at the Siam River resort, and a fairly short one at that as we checked in well after midnight. We took a family sized room which had both a double and a single bed in it. I can't really fault the room, it was basic but large and clean and everything worked. OK, so the room is not the last word in luxury - tiled floors, hard mattresses and a feeling that the siting of light switches and aircon was designed by someone who had never actually stayed in a hotel before but these are minor matters and for what you pay the place is good value.

One disappointment, although reading another review perhaps not, was that breakfast finished at 9.30 am. Given that there is not much to do in Chaiyaphum after the sun goes down it is probably perfectly reasonable to assume that all guests are up and about long before 9.30 am, indeed as a separate reviewer points out, the crowing cockerels may make certain of this.

Having mentioned things to do: Chaiyaphum town itself has little to keep one occupied unless you have a particular liking for shops selling agricultural machinery and tractor parts. However head out of town going north to Tat Ton National Park and into the hills beyond. There is actually nothing to do there either, but that's sort of the whole point. Proper rural Thailand at its gentle and untouristy best.

Good stay for 1 or 2 days. Good restaurant and rooms. Only the breakfast is very poor. We tryed to get a massage but there was nobody to help us, strange....
But overall a good stay and sleep, try to sleep in the big building where the reception is because you don't hear the chickens in you room....

Havebeen advised of the circumstances as to why only guests were allowed to use facilities, this has reverted back to how it was and we are all happy again. They have been advised that farangs do not like being mislead. Breakfast still crap though.

After staying at Siam River Resort on numerous occasions I married my Thai wife and now reside in the village. I have always used their Bar, Massage restaurant and pay for their pool and gym. Recently have been advised that I cannot use the gym and pool as these are for guests only but they are still anxious to take my 800 bt for a massage and take my money at the bar. Have now found that Siam river is not too Farang friendly and would be well worth checking out other venues. I have found Chaiyaphum Park is very Farang Friendly now.

Room Tip: if you want wifi, stay in reception block. Breakfast in terrible but i hear now you can order omelettes from the chef

I just completed my secord stay at the Siam River Resort in Chaiyaphum. The Deluxe rooms are nice and spacious. Mosquitoes can be a problem at night so take precautions, Rates are very reasonable. A limited but sufficient buffet breakfast is included....

Room Tip: Just do a little research as it is mostly found in the Thai language not English.
