Owner description: Keila Waterfall is located on the Keila River, Keila-Joa small town, Keila Rural Municipality, Harju County. The waterfall is 6 metres in height and tens of metres in width, being thus the third most powerful waterfall in Estonia following only Narva Waterfall and Jagala Waterfall. There is a path taking you from the park along the riverbed and over two suspension bridges to the waterfall.Interesting to know: - There is a tradition among local people to come to the waterfall on their wedding day, fasten a padlock bringing fortune on the chain bridge and after fastening throw the key into the fast-flowing river.

As it is very dry summer without rains, the level of water in rivers is low and the waterfalls cannot expose full their strengths and magnificence :( Keila waterfall is not an exclusion. More - only access to the best viewpoint - right below the waterfall is barred by restaurant.

A beautiful nature park with 6m waterfall. 3km nature path to walk or run. 25 min by car from Tallinn center. Two restaurants for lunch just close by.

It was a weird feeling to walk on the ice with a flowing river underneath us. Spectacular view in winter. It was quite hard to have a closer look because it was very slippery.

Well worth a visit, we were recommended this over the Jagala Falls, we had a private tour guide but they are on a bus route from Tallinn.

While staying in Laulasmaa, we had to have something else to do than stand up paddling. So we visited on Keila waterfall, which was really good idea. There is also small hiking trail to walk around to see nice views around the Keila river.
Waterfall itself is not so big but it is pretty and you can get nice pics around of it. There were many local wedding couples taking their wedding pics around the waterfall and bridges.
You can spend couple of hours in there but do not reserve the whole day. It is really worth of dropping by if you stay close enough.
