The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Staff helpful, and everyone speaks english.
Internet works perfectly (I was on the second floor).
The location is not very good. It's close to the Gare de Midi station, but all of the atractions are so far (30 minutes walking), 10 minutes by tube.

We payed €25 each per night for essentially a bed and a toilet in a room just big enough to fit both. But it was clean, the sheets were fresh, the bathroom was modern. Staff were friendly but quiet and untalkative. In winter the radiator works brilliantly, almost too well. But the only window was the bathroom which opens to a central shaft which absolutely stank so we kept that shut. TV on the wall. Free wifi. Good budget hotel really.
But located in the Arab quarter so to get to anything worth visiting you have to walk for 15 mins through a fairly squalid area.

I selected this hotel as its near to Midi station and true enough, it's just like a 8 mins walk away. Near to the hotel there's also a metro, about 5 mins walk. While I was there I do notice that Hotel de Paris is at an even nearer location to Hotel de France but I dont know anything about the room rates or room condition. Anyway, Hotel de France is a very nice and quiet hotel. My level only has 4-5 rooms and the bed is large for a single room, with lots of pillow, enough to sleep 2. Toilet is okay but the wash basin is tiny and a little cramp for me. Think the space is about 60cm wide? Room is not too spacious as the bed is too big so if you have a lot of luggage it might be a little challenging. Over all a nice, clean and quiet hotel. Hotel map provided is also a little confusing and not
suitable

This is a very basic hotel in the Arab quarter of Brussels. It's very close to Midi station and about a 15 minute walk to Grand Place. I paid E88 for 2 nights and I felt that this was excellent value for money. The room was clean and tidy, bathroom clean but unbelievably small (this may not apply to all rooms), no wardrobe or drawers, just hangers on a coat hook bar. The TV had a good selection of multi lingual channels.
All in all a great hotel for Midi station especially if you only need a clean place to sleep and base yourself. I would recommend it.

The advantage of this hotel is that it is located within easy walking distance of the Gare de Midi in Brussels which is the main international railway station in Brussels and has direct rail link to the Brussels International Airport. You just leave by the exit “Tour de Midi” and you can almost see the hotel.

The disadvantage is that like in most cities, the area around a main railway station seems to attract the kind of low life you don't particularly want to meet at night. I was reassured to see several patrols of police, usually in pairs, around the area and had no problems myself. But it is advisable to keep a good look out.

The room was light and clean, albeit the window faced the central shaft. Everything worked and there is free wifi. The shaft echoed at times from people in adjacent rooms but closing the window reduced this considerably. Breakfast was extra and quite simple but adequate.

Nothing else to say really, other than our experience was akin to paying to sleep in a rubbish dump. The room was filthy and literally stained. The bathroom had holes in the walls. Electrical points were hanging out of the walls. The shower was revolting. Avoid!

The hotel is roughly around 7-10 minutes from the Brussels south station. The hotel lobby looks good. The receptionist doubling up as manager was funny with his mannerisms and polite all the way.

The washroom door knob came out when trying to close the door. The manager said he would get it repaired but it never got done.
The washroom was clean. Soap and shampoo were provided. The breakfast was 5 euros per person, not so great. The room was pricey, 79 euros each.

The room itself was well laid out, fairly large enough and the bed was good. The biggest drawback is the lack of air conditioning and we suffered for 2 nights because of it as the weather outside was +30 degrees, which was unusually warm.

The area around the hotel gives the appearance of safety issues. The area is middle eastern centric and 4-5 blocks further away would you see local Belgian flavour.
