My husband and I choose NH Stephanie because of the positive comments on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. Our room was unexpectedly large and trendy. The staff was helpful and friendly, they even sent up a bottle of wine after check-in since they noticed (from my passport) that it was my birthday, a gesture they did not have to do. It is also very well situated and within walking distance to practically everything.

We spent 2 nights here, upon arrival we took a taxi to the hotel, however we caught the thalys train to paris after our stay so instead of taking a taxi to the gare du nord we used the metro. The hotel is in a nice area of brussels, kind of residential area, deffinitely not touristy! If i went back to Brussels I probably wouldnt stay in this area again, it was safe and nice but just a bit hard to get into the centre with all the tourist attractions and the restaurants were quite pricey in this area for travellers. Front desk were extremely helpful!! there was one particular lady that went out of her way to give us directions and advise! They were also very welcomming saying Hello everytime we walked past! Room was very spacious, beds very comfy. Breakfast was unbelievably expensive at 20euro pp!!!! there is a breakfast bar, near the haagen daaz icecream place that was very affordable, you pick what you want and go pay. I would recommend doing something like that then having breakfast at the hotel!! we ate at the irish pub one of the days, nice food and atmosphere... but your in beligium not Ireland... The deli up the road was fantastic. Very nice inside with plenty of variety of food to chose from. Deffinitly stop there to buy drinks and snacks. Wifi at the hotel was expensive, however there was 1 hour free wifi each day. as we had 2 rooms we had 2 hours free wifi a day, which was enough for us to check emails etc. A great hotel, but i wasnt keen on the location.

From the airport in a new city ,the hotel s easy to find.Located in a quite area.there are a loads of restaurants and shops within 100 metres from the hotel. The under ground is so close . The hotel breakfast was great ,great choice and is served till late sat 0700-1100 and Sunday 0800-1200.We had a great big bed, which was very comfortable. I think i may have got more than i paid for.

We found nothing short of excellence during our weekend break staying at the NH Stephanie to celebrate my 40th Birthday.
From booking through to departure the staff were more than helpful, Ana the receptionist even arranged a very competive rate taxi to pick the 6 of us up from the hotel and this ensured a stress free, enjoyable arrival. Special friends had arranged flowers in our room on our arrival and the hotel joined in the Birthday wishes by adding a bottle of wine on a silver tray with glasses....a very welcome surprise.
The room was of an excellent size and spotlessly clean, and we made good use of the pillow menu and felt thoroughly spoilt.
Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and served as late as 12 noon on the Sunday, very civilised we all agreed.
Location was perfect for us, small friendly bars and resteraunts on the doorstep, a deli next door and only perhaps a 20-30 min saunter to Grand Place where you too could be fleeced entirely for a meal with drinks, saying that, the views there are spectacular and well worth a wee splurge to enjoy the buildings and ambience.
All in all, a great choice and very reasonable for a hotel of this standard in Central Brussels.

I stayed at this hotel when on business in Brussels. I'd never stayed before and decided to give it a try. It's fine, nothing special but for my purposes was totally in the wrong part of town (back to the Stanhope I go...)

Rooms were fine and everything I needed was there. I was on the second floor and found the room very noisy...from an early time of the morning so not too much chance of a good night sleep. Tried to order a cab to the office in the morning and was told it would be a 60 mins wait...told it was a "short" walk...we obviously have a different understanding of "short" but it was sunny and a nice walk nonetheless.

Everything else was fine, if you looking for a cheaper alternative to some of the larger chains then I won't dispute that this does the job...

NH Stephanie has it's good and bad points. It's not too far from the centre of Brussels, there was a good selection at breakfast and the staff were quite nice. On the downside our "double room" had two single beds pushed together which were on wheels, but with two separate doonas so I'm not sure what they were aiming for with that but the beds split apart with the slightest movement and the doona was literally the exact size of the bed so not much to snuggle into - I've never seen that before.
The TV is old and the remote is hard to use as the buttons are fairly unresponsive.
The biggest downfall is the price of wi-fi. It's 10,90 Euros for 24 hours or something like 6,40 euros for an hour. It was the only hotel I stayed in in Europe who charged for wi-fi, and they weren't shy with the price.
Also, you WILL burn your fingers on the toaster, everyone did. It has a steel rod the temperature of molten lava which you have to pull on to toast your bread.
I wouldn't stay there again but I wouldn't go as far as saying you should avoid it at all costs.

The NH Stephanie was situated in a nice area, I felt completely safe walking around late at night and really had no drama whilst travelling in Brussels.

Directions to NH Stephanie from Eurostar Stop:

As we got off the Eurostar, we took the metro - line 2 and 6 to Simonis Elisabeth. Louise is only 3 stops from Gare Du Midi. Once we got off for Louise, we took exit 2, as you come up the escalator, you should see an ING Bank, turn away from it around the stairs, turn right. Then head straight and take the 2nd right. Shortly after, you should walk past an Irish bar and a Deli on the corner. NH Stephanie is on the corner.

Positives about the Hotel

Very clean, massive bed for 2 people (queen size). Had a bar fridge and own personal safe. Also coffee and tea making facilities.

Service at the hotel was hit and miss at times, sometimes they would be really helpful, then next minute they would brush you off if you requested something and not even say hello as you walked through the front door.

Late check out was a bonus as we told we could check out at 5pm because it was a Sunday!!!! That was a nice suprise.

Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choice and variety. Fruits, cereals, toast, eggs ham cheese. A typical European Continental Breakfast.

Negatives

Our room was on the corner of the building on the 1st floor, I had a tough time sleeping as I could hear cars roaring past in the middle of the night and just general human traffic.

Using the PC in the lobby was extremely expensive @ 35 eurocents a minute. The computer takes 2 mins to boot up once you start using it so your already paying 70 eurocents before you even surf the net. Could not even print off my itineray ...so annoyed.
