“convenient upscale brussels hotel”

I booked this hotel for my college age daughter and friends based on Tripadvisor reviews, never having been to Brussels. She reported that it was safe, close to the City Center, and train station, and had several nearby restaurants. It was clean and lovely, and the breakfasts were delicious. The price was extremely reasonable for the quality of the rooms.

Thanks to Trip Advisor for the reviews I read ahead of booking this hotel as they were accurate and meant we booked a hotel that we all felt was totally reliable. I guess it does not excel at any particular angle but just excels at being very good and reliable.
It is an easy walk to the centre without being too close to the centre. The main street it is close to is Av. Louise and that is a great shopping street. South of the hotel is a smart residential area where there are pockets of nice restaurants, bars and niche shops.
The hotel is also in a good location for driving in and out being close to the inner ring road. A gps is advisable as the tunnel network can disorientate you!

Just returned from Brussels and stayed at the hotel stephanie. All the staff were great and the hotel is in a good spot only a 20 minutes stroll to the Grand Place but the metro stop really close if you don't want to walk. Beakfast good and plentiful and replenished regularly. Only thing wrong was the cleaning, the fridge contained an open smoothie that was stuck to the inside door and there was half a pound of butter in there too!!! obviously this had not been cleaned out from the previous guests!! as we were not using it for food not really a problem but not nice all the same. Apart from that really enjoyed ourselves, if you are expecting a really Christmassy fair you may be better going to somewhere like Cologne as this was more of a craft fair, still Brussels itself is lovely great buildings and the light show in the Grand Place was fab. Its proximity to other places is a plus and we spent a day in Bruge (one hour away on the train). Transport system is VERY efficient and easy to negotiate.

We booked NH Stephanie off the back of the TA reviews as well as the great Weekend Extender deal they offerred on their own website. It was a great choice.
The hotel is in a quieter neighbourhood next to posh shopping streets but it doesn't feel like you're far out of town as the Louise metro is a 5 minute walk away and the Sablon area is a walkable distance.
If arriving by metro, when you pop out to ground level, keep the Quality Burger joint on your left and walk down the large shopping street that has shops like Zara on it. Rue Jean Stas is the second street on your right. Keep walking down it and it's just past the deli (which as per other reviewers is a nice place to get meals if you're on the go).

The hotel itself has modern rooms with all the mod cons and the Weekender Extender deal meant that the mini bar was free and we got a late checkout on the Sunday (5pm). Breakfast was also included which had hot and cold foods and delicious pastries.
And importantly, the staff were friendly and helpful and the combination of the above made it an enjoying stay.
Only negatives was that there is no free wi-fi in the rooms, but you can get a code and sit in the lobby for 30 minutes of free connection each day. The bathroom also felt a bit cramped and we struggled to put our toiletry bags on the shelves. We stayed in room 601 so not sure what it's like in other rooms.

But that shouldn't put you off staying here. At the right price it's a great alternative to staying in the middle of a noisy central area. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Higher floor means less street noise. We asked for a quiet room on a higher floor and we got it

Overall a good value hotel. Breakfast was nice but a wider selection would have been nice. Only one negative point was that we requested a non smoking room and it did slightly smell of smoke.

We arrived from the airport after two long flights from CA, then at the hotel (almost 60 euros in a.m. rush hour) around 11am. Greeted by Alba, who speaks excellent English, Spanish and French (and probably some Flemish) who invited us to wait while our room was prepared. The lobby has very comfortable seating and plenty of newspapers. Our room, a superior double, was quite large, immaculate with a spacious bathroom and great toiletries. We had room to fit some juice and milk in the little fridge under the desk. The large closet had plenty of room for our suitcases, clothes and three drawers for storage as well. The staff at this hotel rate 5 stars - for responsiveness, cheerfulness, helpfulness and knowledge of the city. The only reason I gave 4.5+ was the internet. Our American computer was not able to connect to the free wifi in the lobby, though attempts were made my staff and the service provider. However, for 6 euros we purchased an hour of time good for 24 hours and that met our needs (more expensive arrangements are available). The location of the hotel is excellent, near Place Stephanie and Place Louise - we walked everywhere - and appreciated TA reviews directing us to the Proxy supermarket, and the nearby deli with microwave and friendly staff. Our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood were Sale, Pepe e Rosmarino and Bosquet 58 (see separate review). A light supper at the nearby pub one night also hit the spot. NH hotels are not all equal, but the Stephanie lives up to its website (our dysfunctional Nespresso was replaced with a Lavazza). Thanks especially to Alba, Bart, Patrick, Anna and Teresa, as well as the thorough cleaning crew. Our two 5-day stays in October were both terrific!

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor - we stayed on the third and fifth floors - rooms vary in shape due to the trian...

My sister and I have just returned from a long weekend in Brussels. We stayed
at the NH Stephanie and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We had
read some reviews before we booked and noted the comments about breakfast.
I would like to advise everybody that the breakfast was wonderful, the staff were
very helpful with recommendations, directions etc. The hotel is very central just
about 5 mins walk from the metro with lots of restaurants in the area.
