The best of the hotel for me was the attention of the man at the reception desk that help me to find the apartment, very nice person. Be careful if you come late reception will be closed but they give you the telephone of a person.

My apartment was big, decoration was not the best for me but it is clean and ok. And you have a kitchen.

If you want a quiet room ask for an apartment on the block not direct beside the school or you will be wake up by the children in the morning.

The walls are not really thick but it is realtive ok as people there is quiet.

They have parking.

Internet is fine in the room.

Room tip: Ask for an apartment not near the school

When on business in Brussels we always stay in the Axl Flathotel. The apartments are comfortable and clean and the hotel staff friendly and helpful. It is situated in a quiet area and has a beautiful central garden. The restaurants and shops in Ixelles and in Avenue Louise are within walking distance.
We highly recommend this hotel.

This long stay flathotel's bonus is the location in a nice are of Ixelles, close to Fernand Cocq square with a lot of nice café's and restaurants. Flageyplein is also in walking distance and adds an additional option for a night out or a nice dinner.

The nice neighbourhoods of Ixelles and Louizalaan/Kasteleinsstraat areas are close by and recommended areas in greater Brussels. However, this being said, the connection to other parts of the city are rather poor. The EU quarter is a longer (although pleasant) walk, the city centre is rather poorly served with an always crowded and delayed bus service nr 71.

Underground system access is also a longer and rather steep walk or a complicated wait and transfer with bus or tram. Therefore, if easy access to Zuidstation, the city centre or the EU area is important to you, this hotel is not recommended.

Except the location, the positive aspect of this hotel is its rather new condition with cleaning being very professionally done. Toilets, surfaces and towels are all clean and in good shape. Only points of criticism may be the rather dusty air, bed sheets and the sofa, although this might be generally acceptable. If you're an asthmatic you might not be too pleased though.

One major down point is the bureaucratic handling of internet passwords. A password is handed out per device, not per person. This means that in these modern times only your laptop computer, for example, will be connected to the internet, not your smartphone or your ipad. Do not make the mistake of accidentally using your password for your phone and then trying to access the internet on your computer. The front desk will only offer you a new password for a ridiculous amount of money. For people being away from home and searching for a job or long-term apartment internet access is particularly important and therefore this aspect should be considered. Also, the fact that any customer can use McDonald's or Starbucks wifi as much as he likes, makes this strict one password regime look rather petty. Otherwise, service and staff are competent, friendly and efficient.

Room tip: there are roadworks infrot of the building (summer 2012). This should not bother you if you are gone during working hours. If you are not, you might be better off choosing a garden side room.

Our apartment was large & well equipped. Staying here is a bit like being in a residential block of flats-pretty nondescript. Little garden nice if yr on ground floor. But if you need tourist info, maps, guides, etc, this does not have it.

that is all.
