Brussels is really becoming the capital of Italian gastronomy. This very small restaurant is a marvel. The difficulty to get a table without reservation and the number of Italian customers is an evidence of the success and the quality of the place. The -chef-boss-owner is really adorable. The meals are succulent and so genuine.
Do not hesitate any longer, just go!

I went to this restaurant for a romantic evening. The place was fullly booked, so we had booked 10 days in advance. My expectatiosn were high as I heard lots of compliments about this place.
The place was nice, small and cozy. I really liked the antispasti served with fresh "croustillons/ beignets/ fritters". Fresh, warm, very good! That was the greatest thing of the dinner.
Then I had macaroni with chickpeas and my friend gnocci with a cheese sauce. That was good but not impressive. The flavours were not very elaborated.
I was overall rather disappointed. I know better Italian restaurants in Ixelles (Sans 13, Pasticcio) where the food is better and the staff nicer.
So all in all, a good place for an aperitive with friends, but not for the main dish.

Great new little restaurant, where the pasta are ALL HAND MADE.
What else do you need?
good wine, friendly waiters, great cheeses and hams all imported from Bologna. Pasta is great and simple. prices are very good!
You just need to go, but book ahead!

I had lunch with a good colleague at Osteria Bolognese today, excellent. I picked the first thing off the menu on the blackboard, tagliatelle al ragu, it was very nice. We had a glass of sangiovese and a coffee to finish, great food and wine. The coffee was not great but it was compensated for by the quality of the food and the friendly and fast service. Finally a lunch place where you don't need to take a day off... I am going back!

I recommend to go for the pasta and skip the lassagne. The portion of lassagne is too small and furthermore they do not give you complementary bread when they serve it so, you finish hungry (they give you two tiny slices of bread at the beginning). Very economical with the sause bolognesse in the lassagne, very few layers, the upper layer was burned, dry as a result of overheat and not enough sause on top. However, if you disregard the first layer, it taste like the real thing. Desserts were for me the best part and wine was very good too. In general, unbalance, some good point and other not so good.

Dear Beto 79,
thank you for your constructive criticism on lasagne. We will defenitely take it into account and can guarantee that you will see the results next time you are a guest at the Osteria.
Concerning the complementary bread...all you had to do was to ask for it!
Best regards,
Giacomo
