In May we visited the Alberto Magnelli exhibition at the small Musee D'Ixelles in Brussels. This was a very pleasant experience and a lot quieter and more intimate than the crowded city centre museums - and more reasonably priced. The Gallery is situated in a quiet residential street but is easy to get to by bus. The exhibition was excellent - a large number of works in a well lit space and easy to appreciate. The rest of the collection is varied - there is a good collection of Lautrec posters, and a hit and miss historic sequence of Belgian artworks spanning the centuries - also some interesting modern items; all told - a pleasant way to spend half a day in Brussels.
