We booked two nights at the Renaissance Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We chose the hotel as it was a very nice looking modern hotel at a reasonable price, even though we knew it was farther out from the centre - in comparison to the extortionate 4 star hotels near Grand Place. We arrived at Brussels Midi and took a taxi to the hotel which cost 11 euros.

Check-in was straight-forward and we were allowed to check-in despite it being a few hours before we were supposed to, which was nice. The room was very modern, spacious and clean. We were given a room which viewed out onto the main road, but despite this there was no noise whatsoever. The room had a large king-size bed, with a modern television and it is very spacious, with a large desk area, to connect to internet with your laptop. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great sleep, both nights. The bathroom was also very modern and had a selection of toiletries including bath salts, which was a nice touch. The room was made up on the second day of our stay and had all the aforementioned toiletries replenished and left the room spotless.

The location of the hotel, as I said previously, is farther out than some may like, but this inconvenience is totally taken away by the metro. It's about a 5-10 minute walk (depending on how fast you walk) to Trone metro station, from there it's around 10-15 minutes to get into the city centre (Grand Place area). The metro is very good value and is 6 euros for a day pass, 10 euros for 48 hours and 13 euros for a 72 hour pass. The metro trains are very regular during the day and are very easy to navigate once you get the hang of it.

We only had to deal with reception on one instance during our stay and it was a pleasant experience. Our UK > Euro adapter plug did not fit the sockets in the room, when we asked reception about a possible place to buy a new one, they exchanged ours for one at reception without any hesitation - great customer service.

Overall, the hotel thoroughly met our expectations - it is a very modern 4 star hotel in an area which is a little out of the centre of the city. However, as mentioned, the metro takes away the inconvenience of the distance, due to its regularity and ease of use. The staff in the hotel are a pleasure to deal with and I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Great hotel in a nice part of Bruxelles. Room very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast tasty in a nice room. Overall A great place but one point upset my stay. I left a bottle of aftershave (full) in my bathroom. When I contacted the hotel later the day I checked out they were polite and said they would look into it and get back to me. Still waiting! Not a big deal but shows the hotel is not going the extra mile to give a truly excellent service.

We had 3 nights at The Renaissance Hotel and were very impressed. The rooms were comfortable and even though we overlooked the road were very quiet. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The restaurant was priced very reasonably for a four star hotel and the food excellent. Within walking distance of Trone Metro station and the 72 hour travel pass was a good investment.

Room Tip: We only saw two rooms but both were very good

Stayed here three days in a suite. You have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the hotel and its not located on Main Street so it's pretty hard to find. The first night we stayed, hot water ran out when the second person showered. They told us that its common for it to happen in Brussels and they offered another suite for us so then we can shower with hot water. They a pretty complete kitchen kits though which I liked.

Thank you for sharing you feedback regarding your stay with us. I believe you stayed with us at our Marriott Executive Apartments, located right next to the Renaissance Hotel. Our Marriott Executive Apartments offers the luxury of a First Class hotel with the comforts of home. Our Brussels' Apartments have been beautifully designed with separate living and sleeping areas, a fully equipped kitchen and high-speed Internet. We are dismayed to hear that you had trouble finding us upon arrival and also to hear that you ran out of hot water. I am happy to see that our colleagues offered you a quick resolution. Please come visit us again next time you will in Brussels. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend trip whilst visiting the Christmas Market in Brussels (a 25 minute gentle walkl). The hotel is a 13 euro taxi fare from Gare Midi, excellent front desk, very helpful conceirge, clean functional room made for a great start to the holiday. Buffet style breakfast was adequate and set us up for the day, although some foods could have been warmer for a British palate. We dined out the first night at an italian restauraunt less than a minutes walk from the hotel, recommended by the conceirge, which was very good, basic, popular but not cheap. The second night we dined in the hotel, restauraunt lacked atmosphere, perhaps the blinds being drawn but with the christmas lights being hung inside the blinds would have helped but the staff were very attentive, food good but again not cheap. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Room Tip: If you can book and travel through Eurostar you MIGHT get a bargain.
