We initially stopped here for lunch at their little outdoor restaurant. The owner took the time to translate their entire menu to us in English.. We then inquired about a room and ended up staying for the night. It was reasonable, very comfortable and clean and our room had a beautiful view of the Danube River, which was across the highway. Road noise was a bit of a problem, but it quieted down during the night. ( There also are rooms that do not face the highway and river which are much quieter.) . The included breakfast the next morning was very good. The owner and staff were extremely personable and helpful. We wanted to visit the Mauthausen Concentration Camp which is nearby and they called a taxi for us and watched our luggage for us while we were there. This small hotel is within walking distance from the train station, although we had to ask directions several times. Mauthausen is a very small town and few people speak English so it was a bit of an adventure to find the downtown area which is where this hotel is located. The station master at the train station would also probably call a taxi for you if asked.
