Wow, getting there with the narrow hill hugging roads was a challenge. A four star hotel. The 3 story building is a former bakery from long ago and had classic incredibly maintained interior details including higher ceilings, beautiful breakfast room, etc. All rooms are on the 3rd floor and were larger than anything I have seen on my Portugal trip. This is owned and operated by the family whose grandparents had the bakery. They are great hosts and friendly. The village square has free parking and is about a 2 to 3 block walk to the hotel. I chose to carry my night's clothing and toileteries in a cloth shopping bag rather than hauling my carry-on suitcase there. Cafes, restaurants, and church in the village square. Two to 4 kilometer hiking trails follow the small stream. The included breakfast is home made bread, , jellies, ham, cheese, tea, coffee, etc.A quiet relaxful location.,

Room Tip: They are all good.

Get away from the mass tourism during the day and spend a wonderful night in Piodao. When most of the people leave at the end of the day, this wonderful small village reveals it's true beauty. Quite, lovely and near to familiar. Casa da Padaria is located at the outside of the village 3 Min. by foort away from the centre. You can find a parking place next by. Rooms and bathroom were clean. The breakfast was extra ordinary with local specialities. Communication in English without any problems. Absolutely recommendable

Stayed here for a night in July and rooms were impeccable. Very clean. Host was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Wifi was only available in the lobby but I appreciated that. I prefer to not be on our phones during vacation.

Accesible price, very confortable and clean rooms in a typical Piodão architecture building. Proactive service (very nice). A beatiful House in a place full of history. The best place to stay visiting Aldeias do Xisto!

We loved the Casa da Padaria. It was charming and very clean, and the hosts were very gracious. A highlight was the wonderful breakfast buffet with homemade cakes and jams and local cheeses and meats. Piodão is difficult to get to, but absolutely worth the journey. We spent two nights there and enjoyed the tranquility of the village. Definitely plan to hike and take a swim in the refreshing praia fluvial!
