Accesible price, very confortable and clean rooms in a typical Piodão architecture building. Proactive service (very nice). A beatiful House in a place full of history. The best place to stay visiting Aldeias do Xisto!

We loved the Casa da Padaria. It was charming and very clean, and the hosts were very gracious. A highlight was the wonderful breakfast buffet with homemade cakes and jams and local cheeses and meats. Piodão is difficult to get to, but absolutely worth the journey. We spent two nights there and enjoyed the tranquility of the village. Definitely plan to hike and take a swim in the refreshing praia fluvial!

We drove from Manteigas to Piodao over the most gorgeous road imaginable through the mountains of the Parque Natural Serra da Estrela. The views were incredible, the road windy with precipitous dropoffs. In the town of Piodao, you initially might walk to the Casa unless you can find the one lane road to its front. You can drop off your luggage and then return to a parking area about 500 meters away. The Casa da Padaria is in a former bakery. The rooms are lovely with wonderful views. They are clean and modern. The owner, Goretti, is very helpful and serves a terrific breakfast. From the Casa you can take a two to three hour walk though the valley past many stone houses with the slate roofs Piodao is famous for. All in all, we could have stayed here for many days more.

Extremely clean, friendly and atmospheric guesthouse in former bakery with comfortable rooms and prime location. Short walk to brilliant restaurant with traditional local dishes. Chanfana is recommended.

Room Tip: Room no 4 has lovely views!

The house is excellent. All details were taken care with a genuine taste we can only find away from the big cities. Even the linen was fantastic, even better than at home.
The breakfast was super. Everything made at home by the owner. Lots of cakes and jams, nham nham.
I have to go back, sure.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street have a better view
