This is a well run tidy and attractive attraction. The views from the ramparts are stunning and there is a free audio guide available. The young guy in the shop was friendly and helpful. The Bigod family who built it certainly knew how to impress. Of course a warm sunny day also helped.

We are in English Heritage so we didn'y pay on the door so can't comment on value for money.
But what a cracking day!
It was one of their special event days - a medieval jousting day as you can see form my pictures.
As well as hand-to-hand combat as in the pics, they were firing arrows at weach other from cross bows and long bows. Health and Safety? What's that?

Framlingham Castle was a great way to see some of the history of the area. The property was easy to navigate, but most of it is just walls and ruins - the signposts around the walls and on the grounds do a good job of showing what was at a location at a point in time, but a good imagination will help as well. This would not be something I would want to do with children under the age of 6 or so - the wall walks are high, and the children would be wanting to run which isn't real safe (we saw a couple doing that). I would use the audio tour - it helps a great deal, and there is a version for school age children that would make it more interesting for them.

It was "nice". A good place to take guests that have never been to a "castle" and want to have that experience. The most interesting part of me was the video at the beginning that provided an amusing and engaging video.
