“Great hotel & spa”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

This is one of the best spas in Hungary, with a good restaurant, great family programs, and a beautiful view of Lake Velence. It is also quite close to Budapest, so you do not have to travel long hours from Budapest to find a good spa hotel.

Our friends offered for us this hotel. They spent one week in this place and they were very satisfied. So we also choose resort&spa hotel in velence. The room is average. The carpet is spotted. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The view is nice from the room, you can see the lake and port too. The food is same like in the 4* hotels. In total this hotel is average 4* .

We spend a weekend with my collegues in the Hotel. Check in was fluent and fast. We recieved all the necessary informations upon arrival. The rooms where large with very-very comfortable DBL beds. (1301 and 1302) Rooms have balcony with a great view to the Velence lake. The spa is superb lots of facilites and pools to choose from. The best part was the restaurant. Large selection ofvery good, tasty foods at breakfast lunch and dinner aswell. The bistro also offers great selection and very good of foods when you get hungry during your day. Another great thing is the "key" you can receive. Its a plastic watch-like wristband which opens your room and doors to different part of the Hotel. No more keys and magnetic cards you can loose. Very clever and comfortable solution.
Staff was smiling, helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately there is a bit space between the balcony floor and the glass rail so during the night all the junk we left on the balcony table fell off to the ground due to heavy winds (sorry for that) And i also received some plastic bottles from above :-)
We had a great relaxing time with lots of fun, great foods to eat, and a very comfortable sleeping in large, clean rooms. We will definitely visit again as soon as we can. Thank You!

Recently, there have been a number of similar developments growing out from the earth in Hungary, but this place (according to its rating) belongs certainly to the best ones.
Definite advantages / pros: proximity to the capital (Budapest); very good public means connection (raiway stop 1.5 mins walk only); Good and helpful staff, indeed; good cuisine; nice view to Velence lake.
Very few cons: Not too big spa area (in fact, quite tiny); no swimming facilities (outdoor only, not suitable for winter season); for the first time, a bit chaotic access routes to the various parts of the spa.

We had a week at the resort in their time share apartments and enjoyed the wonderful spa facilities. It was very busy when we arrived on a Saturday and we worked out that it was a festival weekend. On Sunday and Monday loungers were very quickly reserved and there was none available for us late comers. Some had towels on them all day with no sign of life. By Tuesday, it was much quieter and there was no problem. The room was was of a good size but with a minimum of equipment i.e. two of everything. The big criticism was a complete lack of information on arrival, when all we received was our keys. There was no information on the local area; places to visit; what was on offer in the spa; instructions for the equipment in the apartment. We did eventually find instructions on how to use the cooker but purely by accident as they fell of a shelf when we moved the toaster. After two days, we found that the windows had blinds, after noticing some switches and wondering what they were for. The lack of information is a real pity as there is a lot to see and do when you are not in the spa. The residential area was really interesting with plum trees laden with fruit lining the roads; wineries to visit and interesting towns and beaches just along the rail line. A trip to Szekesferhervar was well worth the time. It felt like the resort felt there was no need to give any information, as you were expected just to spend all your time in the lake, spa and pools. The restaurant did not cater well for a vegetarian but there was a daily check to ensure there was toilet paper.

My wife and I stayed for a week during our trip to Europe In July 2013. We loved the relaxed feel the resort offered, most of the staff was friendly and spoke English (very helpful since we don't speak Hungarian). Our room was in building 3 and offered great views from the balcony, plus the room was very clean and nice. Food at the resort was pretty good especially in the café however we did make a trip to town for some other options. Bike riding around the lake was very nice. The bartender (I can't say her name properly due to the pronunciation) Gyongyi was the best. Make sure you have Hungarian money on hand before you arrive.
