“Fantastic find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2014

We decided to try somewhere new and were most certainly not disappointed. Three of us had the most delicious three course fixed price menu for lunch and were all delighted with everything we ordered. My 9 year old daughter ate from the kids menu - garlic bread starter, roast chicken, chips and salad and then chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and chocolate ice cream. Her pudding , in particular was unbelievably good. My husband had the quail broth for starters ( from the Game Specials week) followed by a whole partridge. Both dishes were beautifully presented, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. His pudding, a warm walnut and carrot cake with toffee sauce and cinnamon ice cream was simply amazing. I had a melon starter followed by a salmon and sea bass dish with a fantastic chive hollandaise sauce and finally a silky smooth creme brûlée and shortbread biscuit. The service was impeccable - polite, friendly, informative and professional.
The fixed price menu for adults, at £17.95 for three courses was excellent value.
We have joined the loyalty card scheme as we will definitely be going back .
Easy to see why the Angel Inn is the number one Trip advisor restaurant in the village.

“Great Christmas Day Lunch”

Beautiful traditional pub come restaurant. Generally good food, roasted vegetable could have done with another 20 minutes in the oven, but the Turkey was moist and generous portion. Friendly service, Will try again.

“Good value, quality and service”

Good on all fronts. Table of five no one was disappointed. The slight critique concerns the non sorbet american sherbert (half way to an ice cream) and the out of a can Guinness.
