We stayed for two nights and would have liked to stay longer. The congenial hosts and lovely home and rooms can't be beat.Beds and pillows super comfortable. Breakfast is unbelievable, I also tried the veggie options superb!
Coffee can't be beat as well. They offer tea and biscuits after coming in from the afternoon, a nice touch of caring for the comfort of their guests.

This place is close to Ipswich where we had to return our Hertz car rental and then take a taxi to Harwich for a cruise. Everything went smoothly.... We are so glad we chose this wonderful B&B only wished we lived closer to frequent more often.
David and Paul are wonderful people.

Room Tip: I thought all the rooms were beautiful.

Brilliant accommodation in a stunning location with lovely hosts. David and Paul went out of their way to help us and served a delicious breakfast with lots of veggie options. We stayed as a group and really appreciated being able to use the guest lounge. The rooms were very comfortable and The Angel pub in town provided an excellent dinner. Overall it was very hard to leave.

What a wonderful warm welcome from David & Paul was such a wonderful surprise. The fire to warm our boots & a great cup of tea & cakes after a long days walk was just what we needed.
After a fantastic nights sleep in the paneled room a superb breakfast to send us off on a long
days walk.I have to say we were reluctant to leave such a stunning place.

We have just returned from a weekend break at Poplars. The farmhouse is beautiful and the furnishing totally in keeping with this wonderful old house. It was a lovely surprise to find a B & B that is genuinely all that it seems to be from viewing the site. David and Paul are genial hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The Boat Room where we stayed was immaculate, the bed was comfortable and king size, so plenty of room to sprawl and the en suite shower room spotless.
The breakfast room was beautiful, with a door leading out onto the garden, perfect for those summer mornings and although the nights are definitely drawing in, the house seems to wrap itself around you as you walk in. Everywhere was cosy and welcoming and tea and home-made cake on arrival was a lovely start to a much needed weekend get-away.
Polars is at the bottom of a winding track, but to those who shudder at the thought of pot-holes large enough to lose the car in, this track is well maintained and has a hard surface.
Breakfast was delicious, a good choice of cooked breakfast and or cereal and toast.
Fresh juice and home-made preserves complimented each other and a bowl of fresh fruit and yoghurt was my idea of a perfect start to the day. Those with dietary needs are catered for with thought and care.
Two local pubs, The Angel and The Crown are within a mile of Poplars, both of which serve lovely fresh food and I can confidently recommend both. A 10% discount for both establishments for staying at Poplars was thoughtful and made the whole experience a must for anyone who enjoys the beauty of our lovely country in a county where service is genuinely given.
We'll certainly be back, many thanks David and Paul for making us so welcome.

After a day of walking the Stour River Valley Way, the warm welcome us 4 tired women received from David & Paul at this beautiful old farmhouse, was such a lovely surprise & just what was needed. A pot of tea & home made cake set the tone, served in the cosy lounge area & our boots were put to dry in front of the log burning fire.
The bedrooms are tastefully furnished too with lots of antique furniture & carpets.
There are excellent eating establishments nearby & David can even supply you with a 10% discount voucher!
The breakfast was excellent & beautifully presented, with some unusual additions for vegetarians.
A gem of a find & definitely one to recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely but the boat room has a four poster bed. The only noise you will hear are the o...
