“Fun& Interesting & Free with Swiss pass”
Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Went on a sunny day with hubby thinking that we can finish the walk in 2 hours but ended up spending 4 hrs there. Got here using cruise from interlaken ost & bus from brienz to this museum. The whole trip is free if you hv a Swiss pass. It's a huge place that displays old (real)houses, livelihood & animals from different parts of Switzerland. The displays are very interactive & fun which I didn't feel bored at all. Be ready to walk cos it's a huge place. Plenty of restaurant, kiosk &(free) WC. Glad we came here bcos we hv always wanted to learn more about the history of switzerland. Didn't regret spending half a day here!! For those with kids, this is a perfect place to experience Switzerland away from tourists. Im sure kids (&adults) would enjoy a horse ride & up close contacts with farm animals.

“The authentic way of living”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

This open air museum is definitely worth a visit. Take enough time (at least half a day) to see the many different ways of original, authentic and simple living in Switzerland. The staff cares about every detail and is very helpful. This is a cultural highlight!

“Great Fun and Educational”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

This open air museum is great fun , we took our son and he had great fun. Do have comfy shoes on as there is lots of walking and some of the paths are a bit rough. Plenty of places to eat and drink and picnic. The animals were a great attraction as well as the demonstrations. A great day out but if you do want to miss or rush anything it can take 2 days.

“Like to see old Heritage life of Swiss”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Dont miss this, nice location and excellent. Will enjoy the trip if you are traveling with kids.

Be careful with the timing, the last bus leaves at 4.30 PM then you do not have any other mode of transport, however you can walk a bit to catch the train

“A great day out for the family”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

This is a lovely way to spend the day walking round the vast ground of the museum, whilst getting an insight into the history of the country. It consisted of beautiful buildings that captured a way of life in Switzerland in the past. Lovely grounds with places to picnic and eat along the way. The food can be expensive so a picnic might be a cheaper option. It is also possible to top up your water bottles along the way! Our six year old loved it and didn't notice all the ground we had covered on foot. However a buggy would be necessary for toddlers as in entails about three hours walking in total.
