After reading the previous write-up, we were extremely nervous about booking this hotel! We wanted to ski in Laax-flims and we weren't sure whether it would be ok to stay away from the resort but we had a car so we thought we would be ok- and it was. It was difficult for us to finish work earlier on the Thursday night so we took the last flight out of Heathrow and didn't arrive until past 1am. Luckily, we and send a couple of messages to the hotel and booking agent that this would be the case. When we got there, we found a note typed in English and Mr Reichenbach senior came down and let us in. We were relieved to find that breakfast is served between 7.30am and 10.30/11.00am- how sensible! What a great change from some other places we stayed in where breakfast finished at 8.30am. The room was not luxurious but comfortable and everything worked. Previous descriptions are correct in terms of no lifts so muscle power definately required. The best feature about our stay was undoubtedly the evening meal. We took the half-board option as we didn't want to venture out again after a day on the slopes- what a great decision. Each night we were treated to 4 courses of gastronomic delight- the first night we had, for our first course- carpaccio of fish- it was such an inventive and european take on sushi. The polenta soup on the 2nd night was equally delicious. So if you enjoy good food, this is a great place to stay.
