Owner description: Mudeford Quay is a small beautiful corner of the Borough of Christchurch in Dorset, England. Situated at the entrance of Christchurch Harbour, Mudeford Quay benefits from spectacular views along the coast, over to the Needles on the Isle of Wight & back to Christchurch town. Mudeford Quay is made up of two areas, the Quay itself and Mudeford Spit, a natural sandbank which leads to Hengisbury Head all the way to Boscombe & Bournemouth. The Quay is a hub of activity with beautiful beaches, the lush grassed area ideal for picnics and enjoying the beautiful scenery and the Quayside itself which has a small shops, a pub, a fish stall and plenty of vantage points to watch the world go by.

Interesting spot for bird watchers but fairly high all year round car parking charges. Stanpit Marsh (real bird watcher site) is only a mile away with free car parking.

The waves were wonderful and the tea at the cafe was fresh and just as we liked it. Will definitely be returning.

We visited Mudeford during our stay near the New Forest in October. We drove to Hengistbury Head & parked our car in the car park & got the 'Noddy Train' to Mudeford beach. We then got the little ferry across 'The Run' to Mudeford Quay (& had our fish & chips which is what we went for).
A great day out. Will go again.

An old fashioned pub selling good looking grub, a fish shop with the freshest fish, some old fishing cottages, piles of crab nets, sea all around and space to walk about. The weather was challenging but it still seemed a good place to be for lunch.
