We stayed in the Northern Hotel this weekend....I managed to find a deal which meant if we stayed one night we would get the second night free... Not only was it fantastic value...we had a great time...the hotel was lovely inside...our room was warm and cosy, even though it was freezing outside....And the shower was amazing...one of the best i have had in a hotel...it said power shower and it lived up to its name....we had booked on a bed and breakfast basis...on the friday night we decided to eat in the hotel...the food was outstanding...not only was it reasonably priced it was decent sized portions also...It was so good that on the second night of our stay we booked the resturant again....I would advise anyone staying here to book a table. The resturant is so popular it books up very quickly.....All the staff were helpful and nothing seemed to be too much bother....especially Scott who made us feel welcome and chatted to us over the whole weekend...the hotel had a bar that had a DJ and music....however despite the fact it was open until 1am did not spoil our break or keep us awake....I would not hesitate to return to this hotel...

Excellent property located in Angus, Scotland, approximately half-way between Dundee and Aberdeen. Especially taking into account that you are getting great value accommodation for just around GBP 50 per night. Hotel was fully renovated and refurbished recently after a blaze this summer. It is very good place to stay if you are going to explore Angus, the birthplace of Scotland, because if you are staying in Brechin - you can explore all the attractions - beaches of Montrose and Lunan Bay, all the golf facilities of the region and cities like Dundee and Aberdeen and many many more.

This is a great, small hotel situated between Aberdeen and Dundee. Agreed with the other visitor's comments about the bath towels - very small; but no other complaints. Hotel is stylish and food is good. Rooms spotless, but a little noisy as all rooms are on a main road. Bathrooms are to a high standard. Would definately stay there again. Was there on business with some colleagues from England and although we arrived late, the bar closed at 11pm. The place was completely deserted after this - no-one around at all. We were given a front door key, which also allowed us to access our rooms, so ended up going out and finding the gem that is the 'Brechin Arms'! Very friendly little pub!
