We spent two nights at the stylish Gramarcy House in Brechin & were made completely welcome. We had the Family Room, it was spacious, beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean & very comfortable. Agnes, the Proprietor, gave us lots of advice re local restaurants, places of interest & even a tour of the Highlands! The kids loved their short stay at Gramarcy Hoyse & want to return next year. Highly recommended!

We spent the night in this wonderful place. The room was spacious and quiet. Agnes was preparing for her son's wedding and she had vases of beautiful flowers all around. She went out of her way to be helpful and we enjoyed our stay here.

Spent a night here as we were up for an exhibition in Brechin and then travelling on. I agree with other reviewers about how hospitable Agnes is, full of helpful suggestions, and nothing was too much bother. We have a three-year-old and he was delighted to be able to play with the amazing cupboard of dinosaurs. Very central location, handy for places to eat as well as Tesco if you just want a snack. We stayed in the en suite family room - beautifully furnished and comfortable. Great breakfast too! Would definitely stay here again.

The room was in pristine condition, extremely comfortable and the B&B is very relaxing and tastefully decorated.
Agnes could not do enough and breakfast was superb.
I will be recommending Gramarcy B&B to friends and family if they ever are in the area and in the event that I'd be in Brechin again, I would not consider anywhere else. Thank you!

My husband and two children stayed here over Christmas. We were visiting famiy in St Cyrus which took us about 20 minutes to drive to. Gramarcy House is easy to find just off of the A90 and through Brechin town and although we didn't head out into the town it looked very well equipped with a supermarket and all the local shops which made it quite quaint. The house is up off the road and is very quiet - we were in the front ground bedroom and were never disturbed.

The house looks very grey and drab which is typical of the solid stone Scottish houses. The hallway is large and there was a Christmas tree up during our stay. The lounge and dining room was large and traditional - it reminded me of a stately home with the wooden floors and well used rugs and carpets and heavy curtains dressing the large windows.

We had a very warm welcome from Agnes and she gave us the low down on breakfast and showed us our room. You order breakfast the night before and say what time you'd like it - then you turn up in the dining room and Agnes brings you your freshly cooked, locally sourced breakfast - lovely! You can choose from cereals to hot cooked so there is plenty of choice.

There is a kitchen on the ground floor which Agnes told us we could make tea and coffee and use the fridge in there. I can honestly say I don't think there is anything she wouldn't do for you.

Our room was large with a superking size bed and two singles for the children, plus a couple of arm chairs, coffee table, dressing table, wardrobe TV and shower en suite. Everything was clean and very comfortable, we slept well! The only downside to our stay was there was a smoker in the house so everything was slightly tainted by the smell.

On Christmas morning we gave Agnes a little pressie and she had bought the children a lovely sweet basket from the local sweet shop which was a lovely gesture and they were thrilled!

Check in and check out were simple, it was like a home from home. If you prefer the formality of a hotels this place is not for you but if you enjoy a homely atmosphere and being treated as one of the family go and visit Agnes at Gramarcy House as she will look after you.

We stayed for two nights while we were exploring the area as part of a house hunting expedition. Agnes was lovely and welcoming and never intrusive. The room was large and beautifully furnished and the ensuite was up to date. Everything was immaculately clean and Agnes' attention to detail is evident everywhere. Breakfast was delicious - we opted for the traditional full Scottish. We ate in the Swan on the first evening which Agnes had recommended and it was the best Indian food we have eaten in a long time. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Agnes!
