We visit Charente Maritime regularly and it is great to find a good new restaurant. Hidden behind the church in a tiny village, La Table was very welcomong even though we were a little late. My husband had the 26 euro menu but I went a la carte with scallops and then cod both totally delicious. We will return!

This is my 'local cafe' ( I live just down the road ) . I've eaten there twice and can't fault it. If you're hungry but fussy and don't want to spend too much ... I had trouble finishing the last course, but it was too good to leave any :p . The staff are really nice and the monsieur ( sorry, don't know his name ) speaks English and is happy to explain the menu ... It has an excellent réputation with the locals and my (french) friend says that if he had a hot date he'd take her there. It's not the very best restaurant in the world ( that's at Talmont ) but it's pretty damn close ...

Good restaurant in small hidden village. Food very good and staff welcoming. Sometimes cook English food and wine is good.

We had a delightul €15 per person lunch, eaten outside in their sunny courtyard. The amuse bouche was a light cheese puff pastry, and this was followed by Chicken liver salad, cuttlefish with parsley butter in a langoustine (delicious!) sauce and a crispy basket with strawberry mousse and cream. The price included wine and the bread basket, which was refilled as soon as empty, had wonderful artisan bread. For the price, couldnt be beaten!

We were a party of 5, and recommend this place as a great experience We had a variety of dishes from the menu and other adapted due to food allergies.

The staff are helpful and supportive. Our only slight criticism was that not all the food arrived for all of the party at the same time. A few delays with starters, mains and desserts.

But the food was exquisite.
