“Perfect location and wonderful Hospitality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2 week honeymoon around Southern Italy. Sleeping with the doors open onto the sea only a few metres away, and being able to watch the sun set behind the old fort from your terrace was one of the most memorable times of our trip. the accommodation, although nothing extravagant, is perfectly suited to the charming villa on the sea. Most importantly, the hosts go out of their way enormously to ensure that you have everything yo need to make your stay wonderful, and even packed us fruit baskets to take to the beach. They are quick to adopt you into their italian way of life, and when you bump into them at a bar in the late hours, do accept their invitaiton to join them for a drink and some local dishes...you will not regret it!
Cannot recommend highly enough.

We spent one night here and would have loved to stay longer, gorgeous location right on. The coast could even see fish swimming in the sea from our balcony. The friendlier service ever, offered coffee on arrival and a lovely breakfast the next morning with freshly baked cake and home grown apricots. As other reviewers have pointed out strictly speaking the room is not en suite but as each of the three rooms has its own bathroom this was not an issue for us.

We would definitely retune

Room Tip: Top floor for the best view

We had no idea when we booked our room that this small, very clean, and cozy B&B in Scilla was literally situated right on the sea! What an amazing view of the sea! Hearing the water lap against the sea wall every morning, and seeing the fishermen in their boats launching off in the mornings was really a treat. The owners are warm, caring people who make sure you are happy and cared for. Each morning, they prepare a great breakfast spread, with delicious fresh baked pastries of all sorts. Our room was clean and very quiet, we never heard anything but the sea at night. The bathroom is huge--across the hall, a private and very large and modern bathroom with all the conveniences you need. Bedroom was very clean and large enough for three--we had a twin for our teen and a double bed for us and still managed to have enough room to get around. Our favorite aspect of the room, however, was the terrace overlooking the sea. We were on the top floor, so had a glorious view. WIFI was sketchy in the room, but worked well in the downstairs lobby and breakfast area. We always managed to find a free parking spot on the street near the hotel for each of the three evenings we stayed at the hotel. Next time we are in Scilla, we will definitely stay again at this lovely B&B.

What a spectacular B&B on the sea – literally on the sea! Like many such places, there is a long drive down from the Autostrade to get to the this small 3 room B&B on a narrow single lane road because of all the parked cars on one side. Parking on the lane is free but limited. Check in time is only in the morning; we arrived in the afternoon. The only phone number that was answered was the cell – on the sign outside the front door. The lady who answered spoke very little English but did speak a bit of French. She showed up on the street after a few minutes and took us in. After filling in the required documentation in a room in the basement which is below sea level, the lovely Nella Fortuna (a young looking 53 year old grandmother) took us up to our 3rd floor room which took our breath away. The balcony literally hangs over the sea and the waves are pounding below. The view is spectacular!!! We celebrated our good fortune by hitting the little mini bar for a beer and Prosecco to drink out on the balcony.
The room is large with floor to ceiling doors which surprisingly block out almost all the sound of the pounding waves if so desired. The bathroom is large with modern appliances. This is a ‘cash only’ B&B even though Booking.com states it accepts credit cards -- Nella's husband graciously drove up the hill so that I could get some cash. We would love to come back and stay much much longer than the one night we had.

We stayed here a week ago. We took our three kids, and took the top two rooms in this lovely B&B. By there way, there are only three rooms!. Well, as you can see from the photos, the views are stunning, unbeatable. The rooms themselves are large and simply but attractively decorated. The bathrooms (there's one for every room) as almost as big as the bedrooms, and very smart. We were there for 5 nights, and honestly, I don't think we could have found better accommodations at twice the price. The view itself was worth the money. I'd have been happy to sleep in a cardboard box. Breakfast was plentiful, and most importantly for me, the coffee was excellent. My wife and kids especially like the home-made cakes.

However, amazing as all this sounds, this is not why we'll be going back there to stay in the not-too-distant future. We'll be going back because of Nella and Michele, the owners. They were warm, friendly, helpful, and funny, the kind of people who bring places to life and totally change your holiday experience. They taught us a great deal about the area and what it's like living in Scilla, as well as sending us to some great restaurants.

For the money, the views, and the experience, this is a no-brainer, honestly.

I booked at La Veduta because of the reviews on Trip Advisor, none of which can begin to do justice to the spectacular setting of this pristine, oh-so comfortable B & B. The rooms are literally at the sea's edge, with the balconies overhanging the water. The 180 degree view is like something out of a fairy tale. Nela and Michelle treated us more like family members than guests, and we will long remember their warmth, kindness, and the friendship we forged. Breakfasts were a tour de force. Nela made fresh pastries every morning and always had various homemade biscotti on hand. There was prosciutto, fresh cheese, beautiful fresh fruit salad, etc. and as many cappuccinos as we wanted to drink. A ten minute walk away is a splendid beach. Scilla is a traditional, quaint village--fun to explore, with super friendly people. We spent 6 days at La Veduta, and each day was special. For sure we will return!

Room Tip: The 3 rooms are all the same. A central staircase goes up the middle and divides the bedrooms from...

My wife and I stayed for two nights in this B&B and were really wished we had planned on staying longer. As related in other reviews the rooms were spotless and Nella and her family are wonderful hosts. We have traveled from one end of this country to the other and have never had as pleasant an experience as we had here. This is a perfect place to relax and you can roam the streets and visit the castle as we did however we also spent a large amount of time in the balcony that overlooks the sea. Our next trip to this country will definitely include a stop for a few days in the beautiful village and equally beautiful B&B.
