“A little bit of everything”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

This is a small park on the edge of town which has a wide variety of beautiful areas. The local council have worked hard to produce a pleasant environment for all visitors. A rose garden is currently in bloom and smells great. There is also a chinese garden, childrens playground, duck pond and much more. King Edward park borders Hicks park where during the summer months you might be lucky to catch a game of cricket. Also lots of statues and even a cannon for those interested in history. Suggest finding out who Stan Lay is and why a drive is named after him while you are there

“Children's paradise”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We were there in November and January. In November I was stunned at the beauty of one of the large enclave gardens, which unfortunately was not at its best post Christmas. There is space for picnics and games, a children's playground and also a public swimming pool.

“Great park for a small town”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Fish pond, huge play ground, flower gardens, observatory, huge duck pond, statues... beautifully kept grounds. If you're in Hawera, go get some takeaways and eat them in this lovely park, just beautiful. Loved it

This park is just beautiful. There is a lovely lake for feeding the ducks with kids, great playground equipment, picnic tables and beautiful plants.

“Eye Opening Visit to King Edward Park”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

A marvellous makeover has taken place here. Congratulations to the Manager and park staff. This area is well worth, at least, another visit.
