We stayed there on a few occasions this winter. The management has changed and this hotel is now run by a charming French couple. The change is refreshing, and nothing is too much trouble for the managers who are always helpful, friendly and accommodating. The customer service has seriously improved thanks to them.
The hotel itself is pretty basic but does the job if you are looking for a cheap place to stay for a ski week-end.
The real plus is the restaurant. The food served there is of good quality, using locally sourced products, and promoting traditional French dishes. The desserts are creative (special mention to the amazing presentation of the chocolate fondant, see picture)

My wife was in hospital so emergency booking
Not much to look at and a bit dated, but very friendly staff, the bed linen was crisp and clean and buffet style breakfast of nice pastries
The other reviews don't do it justice it's not the ritz but you get what you pay for!

The new young couple who run this newly named hotel are much much nicer.
We stay here as a group every weekend. They are welcoming, kind, and helpful.
The past management was indeed completely different.
The hotel is basic but clean. It has a restaurant which serves the normal " ski" food at reasonable price.
Breakfast is continental, with lovely croissant French bread, pain au chocolate, cheese ham, yogurt, cereal, fruit salad...just enough to start your day with loads of energy.
You are 15/20 mins walking distance to the nearest supermarket and the town of MOUTIERS where you ll find bars, restaurant etc...
I think this place is basic and ideal and will cater for your need if you wish to stay around MOUTIERS and travel to t he ski slopes.
WIFI is free the bar and food is very reasonable.
And if you don't mind dogs, there is a lovely Jack Russell (Harley) who is very cute and fun....

So go enjoy the newly named "Hotel Inn" and the friendly managers and lovely young couple.

Happy stay

Having read the generally poor Tripadvisor reviews of the Ibis at Moutiers, we almost abandoned our ski weekend through fear of a disastrous stay. We booked at the last minute and the Ibis was the only hotel in the area at a sensible price.
But frankly it is not that bad, it’s a 2 star Ibis, what else do you expect!
Our arrival reception was a little off-hand (but this is France) but OK, the rooms are smallish, but OK. The hotel is clearly an older property but the overall standard of maintenance is OK. The bed was comfortable and the heating worked well (not always the case in ski hotels) while the bathroom was clean and functional. What else do you expect!
A family run hotel with an Ibis franchise.
The hotel has a (for a 2 star hotel) good restaurant and while the food was nothing special, the service energetic and the experience good value for money. The chef (a family member) made the effort to come and greet all diners.
The hotel is located at the edge of Moutiers, but within walking distance (steep hill) of other restaurants and the centre of town.
Fortunately our low expectations were more than exceeded.

Room Tip: All the rooms are the same, city view marginally more interesting and south facing.

rooms : the water is yellow, no kettle in the room , it smells like poo.
corridors smell nasty.when i ask for then to heat up in the microwave food i was told no,also asked for a folk i was told no, we have a restaurant so you can it here.
if you stay here you need a car.
hotel food is not fresh , it is microwaved.
this is not a standard ibis, it is very low class with very rude staff.

We booked into this Ibis Hotel for 4 nights whilst visiting the area, following MANY Ibis stays in the UK and Europe. We thought we could rely on and expect 'brand standard'. To say we were disappointed was an understatement:

1. The 'Welcome' was less than warm - in fact, the lady on reception appeared to be half asleep and not at all helpful.
2. The paint was peeling off all the woodwork everywhere. The whole place was 'TIRED' and to say it needed a makeover was being kind.
3. The advertised Safe Deposit box in the room, DOES NOT EXIST.
4. The advertised Restaurant, '..ready to receive you 7 days a week, 365 days a year, every night at least 7.00pm to 10.30pm...' was, according to another member of staff, CLOSED FOR THE WHOLE SEASON!!!!
5. The advertised Bar '... a friendly place to get together...' was CLOSED!!!
6. The first morning we were told that breakfast was not available. The second morning, despite being told it wasn't available, somebody appeared to be eating 'something'.

The worst thing about getting here was the fact that we had pre-paid for the 4 nights to get the deal. We didn't mind that, because we knew we were not going to cancel.
However, when we arrived to receive something which we had not booked, we DID have something to be unhappy with.
We decided that we couldn't stay but had to comprimise for 2 out of 4 nights until we could get somewhere else. The lady on reception wasn't a bit bothered that we weren't happy - perhaps it mean't she could go back to sleep!"!!!
The downside of moving on was that we lost the money paid there (she told us we could not transfer the monies/booking to another Ibis) and also had to pay extra money out for another hotel.
When we got to our next hotel, also an Ibis, I looked the hotel reviews up on Moutiers (should have done it before I booked, I know!). I was amazed to find that people have been giving terrible reviews about this Ibis for the past 2 years or more and Ibis doesn't appear to have cottoned on to there being an issue.
One thing's for certain, we won't be going anywhere near again and we will definitely NOT recommend it to anyone else.
