We were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to spend 2 nights at the Louise is a private suite. The rooms are stunning and beautifully designed. They are like a small townhouse. There is a TV in the lounge room, bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is luxurious and a large bath, enormous shower and an outdoor shower which adds that lovely resort luxury touch. There is an outdoor terrace area with deck lounges to relax and admire the view and the silence is incredible. You wouldn't know there was anyone else on the property unless you were in the reception are and even then you mainly see the staff. There is a reason this is one of the luxury lodges in Australia. Breakfast is ordered the night before, and promptly delivered to your room at your time requested. Appelation is the restaurant at the Louise and has one of the finest reputations for restaurants in the country. It is so heavily booked we actually couldn't get in to eat their when we stayed at this hotel, so be sure to book dinner when you book your rooms. Having said that, we recently went back and dined at Appelation and the food and service was amazing, highly recommended.

We stayed at The Louise as it was the nicest place to stay in the Barossa region. The hotel is nice with most rooms offering nice views of the vineyards surrounding the property. The reception area however is not what you would expect at a hotel of this status (being part of the Luxury Lodges of Australia). It is a single desk that is not attended to at all times. It was very simple. Most things about the hotel were quite simple but it worked. The only thing is we had to take our breakfast order to reception every night by 7pm for breakfast to be delivered to our room each day. We thought for the price you pay for the hotel, the order could be collected by a member of staff, since there are not that many suites in the hotel you would think it would be fairly manageable. The breakfasts were great and prepared that day, however more variety would have been nice.

Beautiful rooms and the Appellation dining was fantastic. Great service and staff.
Happy to recommend this venue to all our friends for that special night away.
If you do enjoy quality food a booking at the Appellation is a must.

Room Tip: Vineyard suites were lovely as all the rooms probable are.

We stayed at the Louise in a deluxe one bed-room suite which was sited a short walk form the main building. The suite was extremely comfortable and generous in size and loved the out door shower. We looked over rolling vineyards; it was secluded and peaceful. Couldn't fault the room. We dined at Appellation on NYE and unfortunately were not informed that the only menu option was a degustation with no other options. We did go with that as no other dining choices available at the last moment and the meal was lovely and matched wines superb. Minor point but at the price/level of service, we should have been informed prior. Breakfast supplied to the room daily and hile of a high quality was limited in the options. No swimming pool. Small poorly equipped gym. Limited dining options but close to other towns and vineyards. Expensive for what is offered and available for guests

Loved the architecture and atmosphere of the hotel.Impressed with the two outdoor areas.A swimming pool would complete the experience.A perfect base to explore the Barossa,Clare Valley and Mclarenvale wine regions.A small comment the components of the breakfast menu though very good were the same for our selections during our 4 day stay.

Reception welcome excellent, remembered my wife's birthday, as they did at dinner at Appellation, with Happy Birthday on the dessert plate. Personalised stationery a lovely touch. Room upgrade to Stonewall Suite fantastic for two nights. The courtyard overlooking the vineyards stunning with wine and cheese. Great outdoor shower as well as indoor. Dinner at Appellation lovely, we opted for the a la carte, lovely wines and service. The sommelier even remembered the wine I had on the second night! So good I had it again. On the second evening after lunch in Tanunda we came back to sit on the terrace outside restaurant. Stunning, wines, some nibbles, the vines, the sunset, could have been anywhere in Tuscany. It's expensive but worth the indulgence. All staff excellent at their job, nothing too much trouble.

This location is lovely and the rooms are very private with beautifully landscaped courtyards and outdoor showers. The setting is very peaceful while still close to the action of downtown restaurants and Barossa Valley wineries. As other reviewers have mentioned, the property begs for a swimming pool.

Room Tip: Rooms 32-36 away from the Lobby walkway and parking lots are quieter.
