Second time at this beautiful property. Local flavor poors out of this warm hotel. Lovely breakfast, accodating if not doting staff, ample parking, and spacious rooms-- all at a fair price. We will be back!

Although we stayed here the night before flying home, the hotel is nice enough for a more extended stay. The grounds are nicely landscaped, the pool inviting, and the view of San Jose at nighttime was beautiful. The posada has an Old Mexico feel with leather furniture, a fireplace, and old artifacts in the reception area. Our room was spacious and airy, which is NOT the norm for similarly priced accomdations here. The staff was more than friendly and the complementary breakfast was most satsifactory. I would definitely return.

Room Tip: Avoid Alajuela: way too congested, especially if you're driving

From the first day we arrived we loved this hotel. The service was excellent and Elizabeth was great with helping me organise tours etc. The pool area is lovely and the kids really enjoyed sitting in the hanging chairs to read and laying by the pool. They could go off and explore as there was room for them to play (within sight). Breakfast was very nice and I slept like a rock. The views are gorgeous. My older daughter said when she's older she wants to live here! Much better than the big chain hotels!!!

Room Tip: Ask for room #8, brilliant views!

This hotel is pretty close to the airport (15-20 minute drive) which is why it's convenient for a first day landing in Costa Rica or a last day before going back. Also, if you're staying in San Jose for a couple days to check out Volcan Irazu or Poas and the close surroundings, it's a convenient location. The hotel itself is so relaxing: It's very airy and open, away from the city traffic and pollution on a small hill and a private gate with a guard for your safety.
The small pool is very cozy with little beds and swinging suspended chairs around for you to lounge. The breakfast is served on the tables around the pool and is standard for Costa Rican breakfast. The rooms themselves are pretty simple - I wouldn't have a honeymoon here, but like I said - it's very comfortable and even cozy for a beginning or end of a trip.
The staff was all so nice and the whole atmosphere really just gives you the feeling of a vacation

Room Tip: I know room #5 (The room I was in) is furthest away from the lobby, so the wi fii signal was the low...

Four of us stayed the night in a family room at the Hotel. We had some difficulty finding it, but this was our first time in CR. The rooms are somewhat dated; however, the shower had hot water and who cares about a flat screen TV? The staff was wonderful, gracious and helpful. The views were incredible. The lobby and outdoor dining were exceptional. We were served a wonderful breakfast that morning, Elizabeth gave us great directions and information and even helped us load our car.

We had dinner at the restaurant just down the hill from the hotel - I believe it's associated with the hotel. The salmon was delicious! Best I've had in a long time. Service was excellent and we even were lucky enough to be there when a Mariachi Band came in to play for another party!

Make sure to put this hotel on your list when staying in San Jose!

Room Tip: My mom can walk a bit and there were a few steps for her to climb from the check in area; but otherw...

Very clean and friendly. I had the most wonderful dinner last night, served my my host. This morning fresh squeezed oj and a banana cut right off the stalk.

I would not spend extra for the contential breakfast with your reservation. It was toast and coffee. For $5. you get eggs, rice and beans, fresh fruit. coffee and juice.

Room is very sparce. Bed is little hard. TV is old...but when you're here those luxuries don't matter. It's the home feeling. The views, and very quaint hotel that you love. I would return here.

We were greeted by the delightful, enthusiastic Elizabeth; and we and greatly enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel. A lovely oasis in San Jose! Healthy and good meals, gardenias, orchids, three shades of bougainvilleas, a lovely swimming pool and graciously spacious rooms. Three of us shared a large room, and never felt ourselves in each others way. If we get to return to San Jose, this is definitely where we will stay!
