“it was OK but something missing”

Its experiments that to be honest that I just did not like. I suppose you can say you have for once in your life seen them but I ask why. Its a skip would not go back.

“5+ stars”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

Some houses were better than others, but it was just an incredible day going from site to site. Plan to visit the James Turrell exhibit first (and early in the day) as groups of about 12 enter on a 10 minute interval.

Also, go see the ChiChu museum before visiting the Art House Project.

“Art museum with a difference”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

We really liked the six buildings which form the Art House Project. The themes are unusual, provocative and very stimulating. The area in which they are situated - no two are next to each other - is quaint and easy to get around. Provides an interesting contrast to the concrete starkness of Tadao Ando's museums.

“Distinct flavour of Japanese culture through it's Art.”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The chance to wander informally from venue to venue within a given area. Many of the works of art are housed in traditional venues and some very 21st Century. A vast range of art, reflecting traditional and contemporary Japanese culture.

“Not the top of our list”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Although the concept is wonderful, I enjoyed the other more "formal" museums much more. So, if you have limited time, I would opt for the Benesse House Museum, the Chichu Art Museum and then spend the rest of your time walking the small island and the lovely trails.
