Welcome was enthusiastic in to a hotel with tatami mats on most floors allowing us to walk barefoot comfortably between baths and rooms. The rooms were furnished tastefully and in a classic Japanese style, they felt warm and offered a choice of beds or futon, we chose futon which was a different but welcome experience.
The baths were quaint but could have been hotter in some however you can stay in them longer and chat like we did or bring young people in which helps confidence as well as the quiet of only a 10 room hotel.
The food was above excellent, dinner and breakfast in the rooms was fresh and more than we could eat - one of our family said it was the best in 40 years of Onsen.
When we left all of the staff sent us off, it was a warm and friendly exit and we would consider staying there again. When they heard we came all the way from London they even gave us a gift to take back. They were very genuine.More
