I came here all by chance. Was on my way to somewhere else but outside the station I saw some locals getting on the bus (that cute bus) to Ouchijuku, they all had the biggest smile on their faces as if they were kids going to school picnic, as a single traveller with plenty of time I changed my mind and got on the same bus.
As soon as we arrived I knew it was the right choice. Those J-style houses were amazing, now most of them (at least on the main street) have become restaurants and shops selling souvenirs, handicrafts at reasonable price but you would find the place relaxing I promise.
Now I am planning to go back again in winter, when it’s covered with snow bet it would be even more breath-taking!
