We've stayed in a number of resorts before and we found this Kafuu Resort should be the best of all !

This is an unique apartment style resort in Okinawa. We'd stayed at an apartment with one bedroom. It's stylish and modern, perfectly clean and comfortable. The most highlight is the bathroom! The bathing facilities make you completely refresh and relax after a tired day of sight-seeing or water activities! Also, the open-kitchen makes the apartment more cosy, we enjoy our breakfast every morning here.

Most of the resort's staff are working with enthusiasm. They're so friendly and "lovely":D
I'm missing them already!

There's a very special feature in the resort, they have numbers of "support items" for you to borrow. Can't you imagine you could have an astronomical telescope at your balcony??
We'd viewed the surface of the moon at a clear night sky. How amazing! This item need to book in advance.

We also enjoyed the food in the resort, especially the "Orange" Italian/western fusion restaurant. Price is very reasonable with high quality food.

Moreover, there's a powder sand beach with clear water in front of the resort. You may take 5 minutes to walk. But it's not a private beach. Not so many water activities here.

We definitely love this Kafuu resort!

It was slightly cold still when we visited during the first week of April. Beach-bumming didn't become part of our itinerary even though it has many nice beaches nearby. Elevated on a slope, it has a great view overlooking the sea. The rear of the resort has a golf-course if you're into that. The rooms are generous sized, considering that it was only the two of us, we got a suite (not sure if this is a normal-sized room but there was a day bed also in the living area, meaning another 2 person could have stayed with us). Also, I feel the traveller/professional photos of the resort are actually an understatement - the resort must be very un-photogenic because it looks much nicer when you're there! The best thing was the majority of guests were japanese, so it doesn't feel too touristy. The staff also spoke quite good english so that won't be an issue. Their concierge was also very helpful in suggesting places we can go during the day - it isn't a great deal to do in Okinawa and we suggest renting a car to drive around which will make your trip much more flexible and enjoyable. The drive from Naha Airport to the resort is about 50minutes. Onnasen is also a decent resort area- compared to Marriott and other big chain hotels, Kafuu feels more boutique and quiet. If I were to make another trip to Okinawa, I would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms face the sea - I would choose rooms on a higher level to get a better vista.

This is a nice hotel but you definitely need your own transportation as there is very little to do at the hitel or in the surrounding area but a very nice hotel.

Just spent 3 days in Kafuu hotel in end Sept, like another member already mentioned, the hotel is very fully booked all the time, i tried to book 4D3N and ended up getting 3D2N. I stayed in the regular sized room which I find abit too small, but the bathroom and balcony are both very spacious and spotlessly clean.

Its nice that every room is facing the beach and with a superb sunset view, the fridge is quite big, there's ice machine for free at the lift lobby which is very convenient and there's a bowl and clip for carrying ice cubes back to your room, these are details i really appreciate and thoughtful of the hotel. Bath tub is at good size, shower space is just next to it and the bathroom is completely separated from powder room and toilet. Be careful that the bed is ROCK HARD just like other 5 stars hotels in okinawa ( e.g. Marriott...), you may have a hard time to sleep if you cant bear hard mattress like my husband...

there are even 2 pairs of flip flop provided for free, 2 pcs of umbrella as well. In room internet speed is good, but again, no wifi service available. Hot water machine and coffee machine are provided, very clean and new style too.

Breakfast is at one of the hotel restaurants, Orange room, providing both japanese and international options, they offer many types of bread which i really like, there're also waffle and pancake too. Both indoor and outdoor tables are provided inside this restaurant. Comparing to the size and no. of rooms in the hotel building, i find the dining hall a bit too small, when i stayed there last week, it was not even peak season but breakfast hall was quite packed. Hard to imagine during peak season how crowded it will become...

Speaking of crowd, the hotel has a lovely pool but its so small. During my stay it was always fully occupied by various Japanese families. Basically 15 people will already occupy the pool.... and those japanese families basically spent their times inside the pool for so many hours and you could hardly jump in and find a bit of space. I honestly think the hotel should expand pool space or build a much bigger one. Pool size is the most disappointing part of this hotel and if they can improve this part, it'll be super and make it a more well deserved luxury hotel....

If you are driving you would need to be careful when you're finding your way up to the hotel. There's this tiny alley next to the road and its the only way for you to turn it and drive up to hotel entrance. It can be missed easily no matter day time or night time. It can also be dangerous when you turn in as there're cars driving downward in same alley. Try to enter the map code of the golf club behind the hotel, this is recommended by the hotel's web page.

dining options in Onna-son is not a problem. We drove along the road in front of hotel and there're so many choices within 5 minute drive. We also tried light lunch and cake from hotel's Deli Cafe which was quite nice. Didnt try the beautiful restaurant in there called "MUKU" as the menu is crazily expensive and we honestly dont think its worth it.

I did snorkelling at Cape Maeda through arrangement by the hotel's concierge for 5,500yen, they had someone to pick me up and drop me off right at hotel entrance so its very convenient. A few junior staff turn out to be speaking pretty good english, while the rest of them do not speak much english.

Bear in mind there's a hanging tag and if you dont hang it on your door knob the housekeeper would NOT tidy up your room at all, so dont make any assumption that if you do not have anything like "Do not disturb" on your room the housekeeper will then automatically tidy up your room.....

There's a beach opposite to the hotel, but like many other beaches in Okinawa, its not for swimming as there're way too many coral stones and your feet would be hurt badly if you walk bare feet..... Would have to look for another nearby beach fit for swimming if i ever stay in this hotel again, especially when the hotel still hasnt built a bigger size pool.....

I would love to stay in this hotel again if they have a bigger pool in future. Otherwise I would consider trying another hotel at similar price but with a bigger pool for me to enjoy.

Large rooms overlooking the sea with two tone azure blue. Amazing sunsets making it an event in itself.

The only downside is that this hotel is full almost all year round. It's very difficult to book.

I stayed 8 weeks at the Kafuu and it was one of the best places I have ever stayed. On the pluss side the rooms are spacious, clean, modern and every room has a spectacular view with a large balcony. The bedding was excellent. There is also a kitchen with a 2 burner stove, mall fridge, microwave, a washing machine, and a very small dishwasher (no oven). On the down side there are no english instructions on anything and the furnitiure is desinged for people of Japaneese stature. Also the maids don't like to leave you soap for the dishwasher and with the communication issues it can get frustrating. All in all though, I travel for business most of the time and this hotel is at the very top of my experiences so far.

Rooms are large and comfortable, all rooms are in ocean view. Well-equipped (can borrow many things from the hotel, like baby-trolley, thermometer, wii, etc.
Their staff are very nice, sufficient car park. Not difficult to find for the location. Around 1.5h driving from the air port to the hotel.
