My family have visited Minna island to do the boat snorkeling. It was first week of Oct, but still in the middle of a hot summer on the beach. At 11:00 we had a ride on a mid-sized boat to go out for the deeper sea. We really enjoyed the emerald blue sea with the colorful coral reefs underwater. It was amazing and my little kid was much happier to swim and see plenty of tropical fishes in the water. After the 40-min program, we returned to the Minna island and spent rest of days on the beach. I remember the ferry ran 3-4 times from the Toguchi port so the beach was not crowded, it was peaceful.

Transparency and layers of blue sea water around the island that takes a breath away. I would absolutely recommend a visit at least one time there. However, so many tourists from Korea, China and the main island of Japan might disappoint you when they get too excited, be rude and forget some respect to others and the nature.

Went there with a friend, didn't expect a lot since we asked some people how long we should be there for, many of them say 1 hour is good...

So we got there and at first we stayed away from the only crowd right near the pier, we walked further to the right of the pier and tried snorkeling, there were many white corals and tiny fish, blue, yellow, black and white!!! Very cute! Think we spent like 1hr there already!

Then we went back to the crowd and started off the rocks bit, there were loads of crabs!!!! They were all sunbathing on the rocks and in the water, there are many bigger fish, about hand size, very cute and colourful!

Then we swam toward the crowd and that was amazing!!!! There were so many fish, big one small one!! Some trumpet fish, many snappers and blue fish!!! We had so much fun there!!!! We spent totally 2hours in the water till our legs couldn't swim anymore.

Then we got out of water and we in a bit of the village, there are a few food stalls, with lunches and ice cream!!

I could easily spend a whole day there to be honest!!!

There are also some beach stalls on the beach that u can hire stand up paddle, snorkeling and swimming stuffs, jet ski, fly fish and more~

Definitely worth going!!!! It was not that busy as well!! You can definitely enjoy yourself there without kicking someone in the water!

This island has a great beach & coast line which is suitable for different types of water games. We have joined the local tour and has taken 20 mins of fast boat from the coast of Main Island to the Minna Island. The water quality is so good/clear which is the best that i have never seen in other areas of Japan. We have spent few hours there to enjoy the sun bath, snorkelling, etc..
The local tour did include the BBQ lunch which is not bad but not having lots of choice and may not make you so full. There is few little shops near by which you can buy noodles, snacks or drinks, etc.
As we are travelling to this Island during July which is super hot and the sun is really strong, make sure to were the sun block outfit and lotion to avoid getting burn under the beautiful sunshine.

This island is a short 15min boat ride from Toguchi port. The port itself is a good 2Hr drive from Naha. Recommend going early if you want to avoid the crowd during high season. We took the 8AM ferry and were among the first to setup tent on the beach. By noon the beach was super crowded with tents on every inch of the beach.
The beach is white sand and water is crystal clear with great visibility and you can have a good time in the water but there were not many fish near the beach. I would recommend taking a boat snorkeling tour if you want to see fish. I found a lot more fish snorkeling at Zanpa. Great place if you like sandy beaches and blue water but I think there are other beaches offering similar levels of visibility on the main island so why trouble with the long drive and boat ride.
