Honestly the Tokyu is a lovely hotel. Everything runs like clockwork, clean, fantastic facilities, very comfortable beds, a great multi choice breakfast and plenty of shuttles to the various resorts. All in all a nice chilled out place to spend a skiing holiday. The onsen and the massage facility are excellent but probably the most remarkable thing is the staff in the lobby and the concierge service. The Japanese staff are extremely helpful especially the ladies - it’s impossible to find this same level of dedication and pro activeness in any other country. They are willing to pull out all the stops to make ones trip a memorable one. I can’t recommend Romain and Ishi highly enough - both of these young men are excellent.
I hope to go back...Hakuba is a very special place!

Had a room overlooking car park. Room size and facilities ok.
Staff service was very good and provided great assistance in organising trips & ski tickets etc. Breakfast options are extensive European & Asian.
Tried the French & Japanese restaurants. Both ok but quite expensive compared to other restaurants in town
Hotel facilities are good and location great with ski busses at door

Nice and convenient hotel for skiing. Good to have ski rental and lift ticket available in the hotel. It would be nicer if multi-day or half day lift ticket are also available. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection is adequate.

Room tip: Top floor room is good

This was our second ski trip in Hakuba, so this time we knew more about where to stay, eat, rent, etc.

The location is excellent. It is one of the only places in Hakuba that acts as a hub for all the resort and town buses, so getting to and from the slopes couldn't be easier. The rooms are comfortable and well serviced . . . 4.5 star level, not 5 star. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive, with 1-2 English speakers on duty at all times in reception. The beds are very firm by Western standards, but that is the case in almost all Japanese hotels.

They have a locker room, toilet, changing room and boot drying room next to reception for skiers. You can rent skis from the small shop attached to the hotel (Head brand) but I'd recommend walking five minutes around the corner to Rhythm.

There are many restaurants within short walking distance ranging from high class Western (Antlers) to casual pub food (The Pub). The main gondola and outdoor food market are about a 10-12 minute walk, or you can catch the evening bus.

Probably the only thing that held me back from giving the hotel five stars (and I'm a tough grader!) was the breakfast buffet. It's fine, but it could be better. For example, there are no pancakes or waffles for the kids.

4th time to be back to Hakuba and this hotel is the best one in term of both location and value for money! Ski equipment rental is available too. Japanese restaurant is great too. Surely can come back again next time! Of course hotel people are friendly too!
