“Great snow”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

This was our first trip to Hakuba and we skied every day (5 days) here as the ski school was located here at Limori. So unfortunately we didn't try any of the other slopes but next time I would try and ski elsewhere. The snow was powdery and we are only intermediate skiers so we stuck to the green and blue slopes but there was plenty of runs for us to do and we skied for 6 hours every day. The ski school instructors (Hakuba snow sports) are very good and we got private lessons for ourselves to improve and the boys had ski group classes. They all speak English and everything was well run. The chairs here are old, there is only one fast speed chair, and one Gondola, so be prepared for a slow ride up. However the place was quiet, except on weekends, and the wait to get on a chair was very short. Weekdays are quiet and the slopes are not crowded which is great. Food options are limited but reasonably priced. The main hassle is getting here from our chalet. We stayed at Phoenix and the hotel provided us with a shuttle bus every day. However the other ski resorts are far away and they are not easily connected with regular shuttle buses to change resorts halfway during the day if you wanted to ski elsewhere. We got a 5 day all mountain lift pass as our travel agent booked everything but I wondered if we could have saved money by just getting this mountain since that's all we did. The best part overall was the snow, friendly Japanese people and the lack of crowds.

“Great snow, fantastic runs for all skiers”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

As beginners, we had a fantastic time trying out the wide variety of runs on Goryu (and joined resort Hakuba 47). Most of the chairlifts are great and the gondola was good, with a nice restaurant at the top. The best part, however, was undoubtedly the quality snow!

“Best ski field signage in Hakuba”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

We enjoyed Goryu, it has very modern and well maintained facilities. There is a great restaurant at the top of the gondola (called 360 degrees). The trails are signposted very well, with markers along the way. Has some great runs.
