Great hotel, awsome location and some of the best snow and diverse ski fields I have ever seen.
Can't wait to rebook for next year!!!!!!!

What can i say? I was not looking forward to traveling with Mum and Dad but up on arrival i changed my mind. Aqua is a fine hotel and succeeded in completely making me feel right at home! The fire was lovely and the bedrooms were cosy. The only thing that could have made this trip better was as spa that everyone could share (The one that is currently there is not the best) Anyways... This was one of my favorite trips ever and it was made better by the staff of Aqua hotel! Thanks a lot and i hope to see you soon in the near future!

This is our second consecutive year to Hakuba and Aqua Alpine.
*Rooms: very spacious, comfortable, clean and well serviced.
(-)Downside is that bathroom was a bit small in garden suite (in Mountain room it was OK).
*Service: the staff is *amazing*, always ready&happy to do anything to make your stay more enjoyable, and arrange anything for you (ski pass, equipment, transport, etc).
(-)Downside is slow service in the restaurant, especially at breakfast.
*Location: few minutes walk to the slopes of Goryu&47. When snow is good, you can ski back to the hotel. Still, if you prefer, staff will give you a lift, and pick you up at the end of the day. For getting to the other sites (e.g. Happo One), you get a lift from the staff.
*Lounge: big, but still cozy and warm, with a beautiful view, fireplace, bar and entertainment equipment.
As a family with young and active children (11,8), this hotel provides an amazing environment for parents to relax, and kids to have fun (in the lounge, snow or gaming room).
This hotel is exactly what you want to return to, after an exhausting day on the slopes.

As a family of four we shared one of the Western Style Family Rooms - we had great views out to the snow and each bed was wonderfully comfortable - heating in the room was great and could be controlled to suit your own needs.
The service was terrific - couldn't have been better and we felt that we were incredibly well provided for, as staff ferried us to and from the ski slopes, helped with the hiring of ski equipment and booked ahead for any restaurants or external trips we wanted to make. Our kids had a wonderful time and were able to play inside and outside the hotel in without strict supervision and with total safety. Breakfast and Dinners were wonderful - very hospitable!!

"AQUA ALPINE HOTEL" absolutely sensational. It was our first time there, but will certainly not be our last. Lovely, clean & well appointed rooms, the staff were fantastic, so warm & friendly we felt like we were staying with friends. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the gorgeous ski fields, all ski levels are catered for & the snow will definately not disappoint... even the most skilled skier. "HAVE FUN" people & come to "Aqua Alpine Hotel" I can 100% guarentee... "THE BEST SKI HOLIDAY EVER!!!"

We stayed in Jan 2011 for 8 nights with 2 boys 9 &10. The lodge is a walk to goryu/47 but the team at A/Alpine drove us each day.(we were able to ski back)The team were also happy to drop us at different restaurants around Hakuba when we left the lodge.
if you are planning on going out every night it may pay to stay near echoland /Happo though.
Value wise it was nice to be able to sleep 4 comfortably in a room without having to get 2 rooms.
the dining lounge area would have to be one of the best in Hakuba. After a hard days skiing(powder up my knees one day on the groomed runs) the kids are able to watch a dvd with hot chocolates, the adults have a beer and wine around the open fireplace before a nice dinner dinner in the restaurant.
the atmosphere was super friendly led by a most hospitable staff and owners
Thanks to all for an enjoyable trip.We will be back!!

Travelling for the first time to the Japanese Aps with our 9 year old son, I wanted a place that would be comfortable, close to the snow and WARM! The Aqua Alpine ticked all of these boxes and more; our boy had friends his age he could hang with in the pool/games area, separate from the adults bar/restaurant so we had the best of both worlds after the amazing days of skiing we did. We skiied to the door of the hotel most days as the dumps were brilliant but it is only a 5 minute walk up to the best skiing at Goyru. All of the staff were more than helpful, friendly and knowledgable about the area; I can't wait to go back and would recommend it so highly to all travellers, not just Australians and not just families. And the onsite Onsen......bliss!
