I stayed in the two story chalet and found it very comfortable. The couple that owned the hotel at the time were so nice and helpful. They did not speak fluent English but communicated very well.
The chalet has two levels. The first level had a table, chairs, tv, kitchen and huge bathroom. The upstairs had futon beds (very comfy after a day of skiing).
In the main building (which I think is like a bed and breakfast style, there is a bar, restaurant and free internet.
The hotel is conviently located in Echoland which has lots of restaurants, a convenience store, and lots of ski rental places.
There are free shuttle buses to all the ski resorts. The bus stop is located at the end of the road, about 100 meters from the hotel.
Best way to get to the hotel would be to either catch the train to Nagano and then the bus to Hakub a station, and then a taxi to the hotel. Or a train straight to Hakuba station (need to change at Matsumoto station), and then a taxi to the hotel. The taxi from Hakuba station costs about 1300 yen.
I highly recommend the chalet. The access to the ski resorts is excellent, and it is located right in the centre of echoland village. It is also great having a kitchen to cook meals.More
