“Hard to get to, but amazing once you are here!”
Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

We travelled over 1000 kms to get here from Osaka, but it was worth every minute. We came by train, and there were a few tense moments when the shinkansen was late into Akita and the train to Furofushi Onsen was cancelled. We ended up on a local train, but my partner was disappointed in JR East's customer service. However, I digress. Come here if you can. The outdoor bath beside the sea is amazing, and the outdoor bath on the upper deck at night is an experience to remember.

The hotel is a great place to explore the beautiful nature around. The Juniko lake area and the Shirakami-Sanchi UNESCO World Heritage Site is near the Hotel. The Mt Iwakie is also in the region(50km)
After great days of hiking i realxed in one of the onsen (hot springs) and got nice massage in the hotel. The oncen direct on the see is breathtaking. The service is great, they try to make all your wishes happen.
You can reach the hotel easily by train. There is a shuttle service from the next train station (2,5km)
The food in the restaurant is good, the Misu Ramen was my favorite, but they have also serve all kind of japanise food.

All rooms are spacious and face the sea.
There are three sections of hotsprings. The famous open air bath by the sea can give you an unforgettable experience, especially if you could watch the sunset.I was luckey to experience that, but before that I had to endure cold wind and occasional snow fall. If you want to be less adventurous, you can watch the sea and sunset from the grand baths overlooking the sea ,which has a small open air bath also.
Dinner was delicious, full of local seafoods.Generous amount. Breakfast was full of varieties and health oriented.
But what impressed me most was an excellent service in all sectors. When they found out I liked seaweed noodle(local delicacy),they did not forget to add it to my dinner every night!
