“View and surroundings are wonderful but the flies and the service was terrible”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013 via mobile

This is the second time we have eaten here. Last year it was very nice but this year was awful. The area and buildings are beautiful, but as soon as our food arrived we were inundated with fruit flies. Our first course was Lobster bisque and while the mixture was tasty I would not have guessed there was any lobster in it. I had a small second course while the others had pickerel and lamb chops. These were all good but nothing was outstanding. I should say the presentation of everything was excellent. By this time we had house flies to go with our fruit flies. Since my second course was small I decided to have dessert and my friend had coffee. Her coffee was poured right after our order was taken an then we did not see our waitress again for 40 minutes! The resturant was not busy. There were maybe 4-5 tables for 2 waitresses and the last table came in after I was already waiting 25 minutes. We could not catch the waitresses' eye as they were going in and out of the dining room. After 40 minutes we got up and walked out of the dining room. Then after waiting to pay near the door for a few minutes, the waitresses came running out of the dining room saying here is your dessert. The dessert was nothing that had to be made, it was simply put together on the plate. They had also never asked to refill the coffee during that 40 minutes. Needless to say I did not stay for the dessert and left a paltry tip. Never again! This area is full of wonderful resturants.

“Luscious in Every Way”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

Took 5 course meal...beautiful presentation and equally as delicious. The wine pairing was magnificently paired with each course. The entire meal was eloquent. Our server was confident & knowledgeable. An excellent place for a special occasion.

“Stop...Drop everything... Go now for the best of Niagara”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013 via mobile

Another perennial favourite of ours that goes back to it's beginning and it has never been better. Best food in Niagara bar none! Overlooking the vineyards this restaurant adjoins the winery and has a charm all it's own. Great service...I can only gush good things and have to come back to the food. Everyone at our table raved about the pickerel, the risotto, soups and chicken. The wine list is heavily 'Canadian' with some of the reserve wines being the better picks. We'll be back again and again :)

“GO FOR THE VIEW”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

On tour of the region with an American visitor, we picked this place for dinner because of the promised view from the Niagara Escarpment. All the good tables in the dining room were full, so we sat on the deck, which did provide a stunning vista over the vineyards and down to the lake in the distance. However, the railing around the deck is so high, the view can only be enjoyed by standing up. As it was getting chilly as the sun set, we decided to settle for appetisers, skip the mains and scoot back to town. Mine was terrific: salad greens with poached local peaches, bee pollen brittle and a nice vinaigrette. My companions had good hot lobster bisque. Ethical dining note: three of the four diners at the next table had foie gras. Too bad this otherwise fine establishment has to offer food made so cruelly.

“Nice location, but very salty food!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

Great location and view, nice atmosphere. The restaurant is not loud, which allows people to discuss over dinner. However, the service and food do not stand to the expectations. Our appetizers and deserts were good. The venison was good, but three of the third courses ordered were extremely salty.
