The ambience is lovely although we miss the big tree on the deck but it needed to go for safety reasons so hopefully something new will replace it

Wine selection is good.

Great gourmet lunch ($35) three course, paired with three wines. If you want something special, this is it.

An evening at VEWR is worth the experience.
The restaurant is surrounded by windows overlooking the vineyards, main building and winery lawns. For guest comfort, the dining room is divided in half by a window wall allowing
for intimate conversation. Our party of 4 opted for the the 5 course meal with wine paring.
The food just kept coming. Each course was spectular on its own and prepared as if it were designed for the individual palate: appetizers, Seafood, beef, salad and desert.
Staff members were at our side at just the right moment to bring the next course, introduce the wine, pour the next glass, clear the table. We must have been mistaken for royalty? Our mid evening booking was perfect for us.

My husband & I stopped in here for a delicious lunch while visiting wineries in the Bench region on a Sunday. We were able to walk in without a reservation.

The service is very attentive here, without being overbearing. Water constantly filled and bread re-filled.

My husband ordered the three-course creative menu, which came with a scallop & prosciutto appetizer, pork chop entree (AMAZING! very unique flavours used in the sauce) and a not-so-memorable dessert of ice wine mousse/pavlova & a sorbet of some sort.

I ordered steak & frites, as I had a craving for this due to eating fish & vegetables the night before :) I also paired it with their 2010 Cabernet, which went together amazingly.

While the food is very good, it's not AMAZING. And the prices were more similar to dinner-time pricing then what you would expect for luncheon at a fine dining establishment. I think it's a bit over-priced & most dishes should be lowered for $5 to reflect the time of day (and perhaps then they would have a full restaurant).

We held our wedding here on August 11, 2012. The weather was rainy so we had both the ceremony and the lunch reception in the Carriage House and the cocktail hour/wine tasting down in the wine cellar. Our guests loved learning about each sample in such a 'cool' setting. The appetizers and cheese course were 'mind blowing', especially the soup shooters and shrimp.

Diane, the wedding coordinator was amazing. She was very organized and made us feel comfortable...we were never stressed! Her staff had the difficult task of changing the room over in a short period of time but they didn't miss one of my special details. The room looked stunning with the view of the vineyards (on clearer days you can see across the lake to Toronto).

Our meal was beyond words. Each plate was perfection. They pride themselves on using local, in-season, quality products and it definitely shows. It was the best meal that we (and most of our guests) have ever had. We even saw them picking herbs from their garden for the meal. It doesn't get closer to farm to table than that! The wines are just as lovely and paired nicely with each course.

The gems of the day were the staff. They verbally presented each course prior to serving and answered any questions without hesitation. Their attentiveness and knowledge was much appreciated. Our guests wanted for nothing. We even had a guest that just became a vegan after we had submitted our meal choices. She was given an alternative meal without any problems.

We wanted our guests to have the best food experience, whilst sharing our special day. Vineland went beyond all expectations.

We always return to pick up our favourite wines but we can't wait to visit the restaurant for our anniversary!
