We,had a Lake View room at this lovely hotel and what a view,as soon as it was light very early,l would look out the big window/door and always there were people in canoes practicing, single, doubles and think about 8`s was lovely to watch, skiing, swimmers although not many swimming across the lake, over the opp.side were lovely houses and there was a path all the way around and always runners keeping fit,l loved just relaxing and watching sometimes when back in our room or sat on the small balcony.. The hotel room was quite big, with aircon and tv table and chairs,it was very comfortable there, the bathroom was very nice and all was clean...There was plenty of parking spaces and that just went right on to the waters edge, often got out the car and just stood there and looked, was smashing view of the lake. If you went out the entrance and just across the road there was a very large shopping mall, with all the usual shops of malls all over Oz. like Coles etc,so very handy if you wanted something. Yes,l would highly recommend this lovely hotel,it was very very clean, lovely position and easy parking,l would stay there again when going back to Adelaide for sure................pity about the staff, not one ever said good morning when they saw you, thats if they did see you, they never looked up at anyone,we all noticed it as we were with others in another room, whenever we walked in morning afternoon or evening..nothing, ,never had that and lve stayed in hundreds of hotels in Oz,visited more than 12 times and go all over, but it didn't spoil it,suppose we are just mannerly, the hotel more than made up for that. You wont be disappointed when you stay there with a lake view.

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding we were attending there, which was done beautifully, the service and food at the reception were excellent.
When we first arrived, the girl at reception made us feel like we were under suspicion the whole time, even though the room was paid for up front. We were charged a $150 bond, which we hadn't been told about before arriving, luckily we were fine to pay that. The room was lovely, very big and the spa bath was wonderful. There were several dirty marks on the walls, which was disappointing as we paid extra to be in the newly renovated section and it wouldn't have been that hard for someone to spot clean the very obvious dirty bits surely? Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was lovely and the staff were once again happy to help and service our gluten free needs.
Would have graded this hotel higher if the reception staff hadn't put us on the wrong foot to start with. They have a fantastic program trying to reduce their carbon footprint and manage their energy usage, which we spotted in use in a couple of places around the hotel, looked great.
The rooms look over the beautiful lake and you can watch the keen rowers out doing their thing!
For the record, we stayed at the Stamford Grand for similar price last year (supposedly a 5star where this was 4 star) and it was MUCH nicer than the Grand, although we have stayed in nicer hotels for much less, this was quite pricey ($175 for the night).

Stayed here recently with my partner and we both loved the place the rooms were great sizes nice view of the lake and the beds are very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and good location right near the shopping mall and cinemas much quieter than staying in the cbd which was nice. The bistro does good buffet breakfast and great dinners also would definitely recommend.

We stayed in an executive spa suite, the room was lovely and the spa was of a very good size, plenty of room to relax. The view of the lake was fantastic and the sunset was very beautiful. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate at the hotel and also had room service which was prompt and reasonably priced, as was the food served in the restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the hot and cold buffet breakfast which was included in the price of the room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and interacted with the guests in a manner that made you feel "at home". The hotel is conveniently situated across the road from a large shopping centre and a short walk to other restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: They all have views of the lake, and recommend the executive spa suite. There is absolutely no outsi...

I normally stay in the city when in Adelaide, but this time decided to try the Lakes Resort about 20 minutes outside the city.
This is a beautiful hotel, recently furbished rooms are enormous with stunning views of the lake.
It is right opposie the Westlake shopping centre filled with restuarants and shops.
Breakfast is included and a massive selection. The hotel has 2 restuarants, I tried the bistro which was excellent.
Internet is free but slow. The gym is fine but the weight section a bit old.
I will definitely be returning

Room Tip: Get a high room in the new section

We stayed in an executive spa suite & found it to be clean, stylish & well-appointed. Rooms were of a particularly high standard. Staff were friendly & professional. Buffet breakfast was included in the booking price and was very good. Lovely walks to be had along the lake-side, and the hotel is close to both a large shopping mall & the AAMI football stadium. The only negative was it is a fair way from both the city centre and the airport so if you don't have a vehicle you'll be in for a long & pricey taxi-ride.
