Myself and my partner stayed in this place for 2 nights whilst we did some hiking around the national park.
The location of the hostel is good as your are 5 mins from the ropeway and a 10 min walk from where the bus drops you.
We arrived when reception was closed and although there was a man there he would not check us in before 3. We had to leave our bags in the common area while we headed out.
The dorms were basic but clean. There were no mixed dorms. Each bed had a curtain you could pull across for privacy plus a shelf, a light a socket for charging and room for a small day pack to be stored. There was no where to secure any valuables but I was not concerned with this.
The bathroom was clean but it was Japanese onsen style ie a communal bath with showers around it so you are washing in front of people (of the same sex obviously!!)
We didn't eat at the hostel as it was pricey. The communal area was good, wi fi fast and I really appreciated the massage chair. The computer was slow and we were unable to back up photos.
Hiking maps were supplied although they were not very detailed.
There is a good onsen across the road that the hostel gets a discount on, I would recommend.
The room was too hot with no air con and I was woken up at 4.30 by a fire alarm - no fire though!
